  1. Sherwood Forest is very close to WDW and you just have to deal with 192 for a very short distance.
  2. Smaller outdoor desert parties held by third parties happen just about every night at Epcot but they're nothing like this event. A sit down meal and an appearance by the most popular characters, that's big time stuff.
  3. Yes, it's now called "The World Showplace" and I'm in there just about every work day. This event is taking place in the East Hall which is the very front portion of the building. If you do a web image search, you'll see it. As I said, it's an ugly big black hall with white cloth accents. I've never heard of it either. Maybe this is a new revenue stream for the Disney events department. The East Hall portion of the building is not that big, so if 300 people attend, that's $24K, so maybe Disney gets 75% of that.
  4. While it's not presented by Disney, the event will be produced by Disney. Elsa and Anna will definitely be there. It will be staffed by Disney CMs and it will meet all of the other Disney Events standards. For those who think it's worth it, they won't be able to tell that it's a private event.
  5. Currently it's $58.15 for an adult. It does change somewhat during the year.
  6. There's no comparison. "Late Nights Live" takes place every Tues and Thurs night during the F&WF. There's been no over-hyping. It's after-hours and while it will have some entertainment, it doesn't sound like they'll be any characters. The attractions will be closed and it's taking place in just a portion of the World Showcase. I'm thinking less than a thousand people will be at those, maybe hundreds.
  7. In addition to this event, people are already paying $80 for an after-hours party during the F&WF which doesn't include fireworks, attractions, or beer and it lasts just a few hours, so you're not that far off.
  8. It's only $20 more than the character breakfast at the castle. I wouldn't pay it, but lots of people do. "A Delicious Breakfast Buffet with a menu that includes: Seasonal Fruit, Mickey Waffles w/ Maple Syrup, Scrambled Eggs, Smoked Bacon, Hash Brown Gratin, Chilled Fruit Juices, Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, & Tea."
  9. What beautiful décor are they talking about? It's a cheap building that was supposed to be temporary, but Disney decided to keep it. The interior is solid black with white cloth accents. The interior of a typical Walmart is more attractive. Oh, it has a nice chandelier. It's so cheap that it has to have water sprinkling on the exterior surfaces during Illuminations so that if any embers land on the membrane skin, it won't burn through it. They'll set up tables, maybe a Disney backdrop or two and that's it, beautiful décor.
  10. If this does go anywhere, which I doubt, I wonder if they'll resurrect the old landing strip for the UAV/UAS aircraft.
  11. It's a very complicated arrangement, but your assumption that Disney owns all the land and lakes that make up WDW is incorrect. They own about 2/3s of the land. RCID owns a little less than a 1/3, and the rest is owned by the state of Florida and various other entities. WDW is subject to the laws, rules, and regulations that any other county in Florida has to abide with. WDW is located in two towns, Lake Buena Vista and Bay Lake. They in turn make up the "Reedy Creek Improvement District", RCID, which is the taxing agent for the two towns in the District. The RCID is managed by a board of su
  12. Oh ok. Coke bottles are made by flying monkeys that are dressed like Bellmen. Why were they dressed like that anyway?
  13. Hey, what can I say, I got a million of them. That's an exaggeration. While the robotic machine was complex, the end product was not. It was a plastic Coke bottle.
  14. I'll believe that when I see it. You have that backwards. Disney should be very appreciative of having your daughters and others like them as CMs. I see CP kids just about every time I work, and a few have been close friends, so I know how hard they work and the life style they put up with. I wouldn't have done it at their age. Just about every CM I know has their spouse go on The HUB for them. I doubt that Disney cares if a family member uses it, but even if they track the source, so what? I go on it from all over the place and someone else could be using it.
  15. While you're there, look up this one 5,509,965.
  16. I know how to block users and I'm not afraid to use it. So this is what I get for posting helpful, reliable, info for someone that was thinking about doing it, the 3rd degree? You should have been a lawyer. Instead of criticizing me, you could put that time to better use by searching "The HUB" for info that could be of help to Fiends. I don't know, but if anyone would know that that are in fact Hidden Mickeys and not Deliberate Mickeys, wouldn't it be Disney?
  17. From the Lodge's page on The HUB. I assume it is. You're really getting on my nerves.
  18. Duh, who posted it? WDWMagic has the announcement.
  19. According to the excerpt below which appeared in the Orlando Sentinel today, Disney has filed three Patent applications for some pretty cool stuff. By Steven FordOrlando Sentinel 1:11 a.m. EDT, August 25, 2014 One of the applications is for a multi-drone system that would hold aloft a projection screen for a nighttime display. Such a display would utilize what Disney calls “flixels,” which is an Imagineer word creation for “floating pixels,” according to the background information Disney submitted. In the second patent application, Disney said “the UAVs execute the flight plans to move a
