Which is better for crowds?
Lou... replied to BouncingTiggers's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I wouldn't change my dates for the difference in crowd levels. It's not that much. A little. Disney knows exactly when it's going to be busy. Look at the rates for the campsites for the different time periods. That tells you every thing you need to know about crowd levels. One convention more or less has very little impact on the crowd levels at WDW. It's a huge place and it can absorb very large groups. There are conventions and special events going on year round at WDW and Orlando. -
More or less is right.

Of course you have and you'll continue to see it. As most of you know, Disney is not that serious on enforcing their rules. They're more like suggestions. They'll pick and choose what & when to enforce. In order to really enforce the rules, they would need a lot more staff and that's not going to happen. And if they did hire more staff, you'll be paying even more for the sites.

Below I'm quoting, exactly, from 2 WDW internal website posts. It's kinda scary that you know about the 799 figure. I've checked other non Disney web sites and am getting both numbers as well. So take your pick. Quote #1 - 409 Wilderness Cabins, 784 Campsites Quote #2 - 409 rooms (rustic wilderness cabins), 799 camping sites. I'm wondering if the 784 number is the original number of campsites and the 799 is the revised number. Either way, there are a ton of campsites.

Due to very recent events, I wouldn't give that flier too much credence. Disney just released their position and clarification on Segways and it differs from the printed rules. There is also a thread about Fiends being pulled over for riding their bikes one the road. That too differs from the rules. Will they revise that flier?

Kinda related Disney: Pricing levels yet to recover Orlando Sentinel - March 14, 2011 By Jason Garcia and Sara K. Clarke, Staff Writers Ever since the Walt Disney Co. began aggressively discounting to keep its theme parks full during the global recession, analysts have been wondering how long it will take Disney to return to full pricing. Although Walt Disney Parks and Resorts recently posted its first quarterly profit in more than two years, Disney acknowledged last week that its pricing levels haven't recovered yet. "We're not fully back to where we might have been pre-downturn," Disney C

Disney's description, below, of Ariel?s Undersea Adventure at Disneyland and Journey of the Little Mermaid at WDW sure sound similar. Do you think they will be the same attraction? Cool Bus RV
Lou... replied to Just Beachy's topic in Camper Suggestions: from tents to Class A beauties
The RTS buses were ahead of their time styling-wise and in my opinion, I think they're better looking than the new low floor buses. I can give a guest a better ride experience on the RTS than on most of the other buses. I had one today and it drove like a dream, but sadly that is not the norm. Most are slow & noisy. They do have some design flaws and they do need to be retired. I wasn't around when they were new, but I bet they were great for the time. -

Free things to do at WDW!
Lou... replied to Momof6....aka Marty's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
It would be nice to meet you too, but even if I were working, the odds of meeting a specific person on a bus are slim due to the fact that there are so many drivers and so many bus trips. I think the odds are about 1 in 6000. I stole your bus smiley, had to have it, thanks. I'm exempt from driving at the Fort, and I'm thankful for that. You won't find me going between the resorts because there are no such routes. The best way is to let me know when you're going to be hanging out at the Fort and I'll stop by. -

If memory serves, the WDW RTS buses have the bigger engines. I believe they look like the one in the photos. I'll have to check. -
Would you like to teach for Disney?
Lou... replied to Lou...'s topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
Don't know what the gift is. All they say is, if the person referred is hired, the CM gets a nice gift. I've heard, from someone that shall remain nameless, for now, that it doesn't take much. -
I'm always there. Things are getting busier, but still manageable. Just plan your day wisely and you'll be ok. Go when everyone else isn't. Besides, aren't you already committed? I hope the bat isn't going to be used on the bus drivers.

That's a great list Marty. If you run out, I can probably add one or two things. I do have one you should add to the list, take a ride on my bus, if you dare. -
