  1. I wouldn't change my dates for the difference in crowd levels. It's not that much. A little. Disney knows exactly when it's going to be busy. Look at the rates for the campsites for the different time periods. That tells you every thing you need to know about crowd levels. One convention more or less has very little impact on the crowd levels at WDW. It's a huge place and it can absorb very large groups. There are conventions and special events going on year round at WDW and Orlando.
  2. Of course you have and you'll continue to see it. As most of you know, Disney is not that serious on enforcing their rules. They're more like suggestions. They'll pick and choose what & when to enforce. In order to really enforce the rules, they would need a lot more staff and that's not going to happen. And if they did hire more staff, you'll be paying even more for the sites.
  3. Below I'm quoting, exactly, from 2 WDW internal website posts. It's kinda scary that you know about the 799 figure. I've checked other non Disney web sites and am getting both numbers as well. So take your pick. Quote #1 - 409 Wilderness Cabins, 784 Campsites Quote #2 - 409 rooms (rustic wilderness cabins), 799 camping sites. I'm wondering if the 784 number is the original number of campsites and the 799 is the revised number. Either way, there are a ton of campsites.
  4. Due to very recent events, I wouldn't give that flier too much credence. Disney just released their position and clarification on Segways and it differs from the printed rules. There is also a thread about Fiends being pulled over for riding their bikes one the road. That too differs from the rules. Will they revise that flier?

  6. According to everything I've read and heard, that's what they're saying. Actually it's been 2-1/2 years since the parks & resorts have posted a profit. It's not been so gloomy for the Walt Disney Co. as a whole though.
  7. Kinda related Disney: Pricing levels yet to recover Orlando Sentinel - March 14, 2011 By Jason Garcia and Sara K. Clarke, Staff Writers Ever since the Walt Disney Co. began aggressively discounting to keep its theme parks full during the global recession, analysts have been wondering how long it will take Disney to return to full pricing. Although Walt Disney Parks and Resorts recently posted its first quarterly profit in more than two years, Disney acknowledged last week that its pricing levels haven't recovered yet. "We're not fully back to where we might have been pre-downturn," Disney C
  8. Did you know that the Fort: . has a 10/10/10 rating from Trailer Life magazine. This rating is the highest provided by the magazine. . has four miles of canals. . Wilderness name came from the fort on Tom Sawyers Island located at Disneyland. . tree trunk trashcans are recycled props obtained from the retired Indian Village attraction that was open in Frontierland at Disneyland from 1955 to 1971. . on average, has 80-85 horses on the grounds. . has 409 cabins & 784 campsites.
  9. First we had the rowdy Lil Lisa, BTW, I don't think she's so lil, then stefa70, one of my favoite names, one of our daughter's name, and now I'm adding MLM5 to the sisters from different mothers. You're all bad.
  10. Disney's description, below, of Ariel?s Undersea Adventure at Disneyland and Journey of the Little Mermaid at WDW sure sound similar. Do you think they will be the same attraction? Journey of the Little Mermaid, a major, all-new attraction during which guests will travel with Ariel and her friends through their exciting adventures above and below the waves ? all against a musical backdrop of songs from the classic film. Ariel's Undersea Adventure. This attraction based upon the Disney classic The Little Mermaid will offer Guests the unique experience of being submersed into the scenes and so
  11. Latest from Disney on the HM queue. The new area will be open soon for guests to explore. Upon entering the Mansion?s courtyard, guests will be able to see, touch, hear, and play with several new, interactive elements that have been added into the queue. A preview phase will take place over the next few weeks, Disney will be gathering feedback from guests and adjusting the experiences to make sure they deliver the most fun for guests. The enhanced queue will be open periodically on a limited basis until the end of the month while Disney fine-tunes the guest experience. The full queue will op
  12. The RTS buses were ahead of their time styling-wise and in my opinion, I think they're better looking than the new low floor buses. I can give a guest a better ride experience on the RTS than on most of the other buses. I had one today and it drove like a dream, but sadly that is not the norm. Most are slow & noisy. They do have some design flaws and they do need to be retired. I wasn't around when they were new, but I bet they were great for the time.

  14. It would be nice to meet you too, but even if I were working, the odds of meeting a specific person on a bus are slim due to the fact that there are so many drivers and so many bus trips. I think the odds are about 1 in 6000. I stole your bus smiley, had to have it, thanks. I'm exempt from driving at the Fort, and I'm thankful for that. You won't find me going between the resorts because there are no such routes. The best way is to let me know when you're going to be hanging out at the Fort and I'll stop by.
  15. If memory serves, the WDW RTS buses have the bigger engines. I believe they look like the one in the photos. I'll have to check.
  16. Don't know what the gift is. All they say is, if the person referred is hired, the CM gets a nice gift. I've heard, from someone that shall remain nameless, for now, that it doesn't take much.
  17. I'm always there. Things are getting busier, but still manageable. Just plan your day wisely and you'll be ok. Go when everyone else isn't. Besides, aren't you already committed? I hope the bat isn't going to be used on the bus drivers.
  18. That's a great list Marty. If you run out, I can probably add one or two things. I do have one you should add to the list, take a ride on my bus, if you dare.
  19. Tokyo Disneyland suspended operations due to liquefaction of soil caused by the intense shaking of the tremor. The target date for a decision and notification on when operations will resume is 3/21. The earthquake did not cause any major damage to the parks.
  20. To the snarkiest of the snarky, to the Queen of Snarkydom, happy birthday.
