  1. JohnnyB, I've read the entire story and you're right. JD will be Tonto. That's kinda strange. Big star playing the second fiddle role. I assumed by the headline below that JD was playing the leading role. Half Nelson star in talks to take role opposite Johnny Depp as Tonto in movie remake of the classic radio and TV series. 2. No, correction, he's playing Tonto. Disney has picked Johnny Depp, or maybe the other way around, to portray Tonto in a big budget movie produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. That should be interesting.
  3. WDW buses do not service the Wyndham, but the Wyndham does provide transportation to the WDW theme parks, water parks, and DTD. For MK, they drop off at TTC.
  4. Even if it's free at WDW, it's not free. How many times have you heard that the transportation is free at WDW? Surprise it's not. It's buried in you room/site rate. I've been told that it's itemized on DVC statements.
  5. You are correct oh "wise one" on both counts. It is the Hilton. You would be thinking wrong. Anyone and almost anything can ride WDW transportation.
  6. Bus fleet to be increased by a third, I doubt it. I was recently told by a non-manager, but because of his position, should be in the know, that the bus fleet will grow by 1/3 by the end of the year. I'm very skeptical. In my time at WDW, they have never increased the bus fleet by that much. Also it stands to reason that if you increase the number of buses by a third, don't they have to increase the number of drivers as well and I haven't noticed a lot of new drivers being trained There are no additional resorts coming online for a couple of years, "Art of Animation", and if the rumors are tr
  7. Oh boy, can't wait. I'm not kidding, but every once in a while I actually crave apple pie or apple turnovers. I had asked a certain donut professional that for some reason which I will never understand is not on this board, to bring me some apple filled donuts when he came to the Fort, but I guess that's not going to happen now. Oh, and keep the Runner away from my pie on the trip down.
  8. We're in Roswell, not that far from you. We have kids/grandkids in Kennesaw & Alpharetta, so it made since to have a place there. We go up for 4 days at time every couple of months or so.
  9. What a great idea. Hmmm, it's a beautiful day here, I should just go over to the Fort and see if they have apple pie at Trails End.
  10. It goes without saying that I'll be there. I'll be in touch when it gets closer.
  11. We'll be at the Atlanta house two weeks before. You picked the wrong week. Could have been quite the GG at the MB residence. Maybe next year.
  12. No grey area, apple pie wins. Well, at least in my situation. I can go to the Fort any day of the week, but warm apple pie, now that's a treat.
  13. I would like to see the numbers if you included non-Disney companies.
  14. Walt Disney World and its related businesses in Florida generate an estimated $18.2 billion a year in economic activity and are responsible for more than one of every 50 jobs in the state, according to an impact study paid for by the giant resort. The report, released Wednesday, found that Disney's theme-park operations in the state ? which include Disney World, Disney Cruise Line and its Disney Vacation Club time-share business ? account for 2.5 percent of Florida's cumulative gross domestic product. 15. Snarky time. The sentence at the end of that story tells me that author Fritz has no clue about engineering and the real world. "QUOTE- It would have been ?reliable... polution-free, smooth, efficient, quiet (and) required minimum routine maintenance and has low operating costs.? If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Author Fritz's conclusions: Reliable, give me a break. Pollution free, there is no such thing as a pollution free transportation system. The pollution just occurs elsewhere. Efficient, ya right. Quiet, ok, I'll give him that. Minimum maintenance, the real world numbers don't
  16. I wish I had an answer for you, but I don't. In Oct, they had a policy change regarding WC/ECVs, but like so often happens at WDW, they didn't implement it totally and don't enforce it. The bus drivers are as confused as you are. Your correct, the white template is for sizing scooters. The original policy was, if it doesn't fit in the template, it doesn't get on the bus, period. Well, the first time I denied an oversize scooter, I was overruled by an idiot manager. BTW, all managers at WDW are idiots. So do whatever you did before the policy change unless you're told to do otherwise. Let the
  17. Was that about the first sentence, second sentence, or both? We've only camped at the Fort 3 times and that was recent. Unlike most of the Fiends, it's not a special occasion. I miss out on the anticipation and excitement factors.
  18. You're not alone, neither did I. And unlike you, I feel stupid most of the time.
  19. I realize that this will not change anyone's opinion, but it's only fair to present it. http://corporate.disney.go.com/citizenship2010/humanrights/ http://corporate.disney.go.com/citizenship2010/community/overview/corporategiving/
  20. Most "Hidden Mickeys" are actually "Deliberate Mickeys", if you submit one, please specify which one you think they are. Below is Disney's, not mine, description of both. Please do not research it on the web. I'd like it to be Mickeys that you've discovered or seen. If you can, include a little blurb. Don't bother with the Deliberate Mickeys at the Fort, the Tri-Circle D Ranch signs and gates, the Hollywood Studios Mickey because it's really no longer recognizable due to the changes, or the largest Mickey, at the WDW Speedway. I have the official WDW verified lists. The keyword is verified
  21. No, I meant the Taxi phone number. BTW, insist on speaking with a manager if you do call WDW Transportation. If you still have my cell number, text me, don't call, as I can't use the phone, if you have a problem and I'll call it in. Having said all that, I would still drive myself.
