  1. Again, Thanks for all the pictures and the 20000 leagues post. I loved that ride as a kid and have always hated my kids didn't get to ride it. I am interested to hear about your experience at Tortouga Tavern. There are some interesting characters that hang out there after hours, but what do you expect in Tortouga it is a haven for shady characters...
  2. Looking good, thanks for posting your pictures. Keep them coming.
  3. I wondered who would go there, should have seen you coming. He set you up and you knocked it out of the park.
  4. Do you know the significance of the date on the beer glass? I guess, I am working too hard if the best I can do is page 3. I gotta do something about this. Looking forward to reading along.
  5. Thanks for the pictures of the road, t think I like the trip down because of the excitement it brings. Looking forward to hearing more about the gathering.
  6. Thanks for posting we have come very close to booking here for a HH trip. After your report we won't hesitate.
  7. Never knew about the fireflies. I love the Octoberfest, not sure I am up for the monster beer.
  8. Thanks Dave! Thank you for coming along. We didn't know what to expect from this park, but it really delivered. I am hoping that if we keep camping when the day comes they are too big to trick or treat they will still want to camp with us. It is easy to see why it is Cloudland Canyon in these pictures. I like that one and the one with the pine tree in the foreground the best myself. This was such a fluke that it turned out to be so pretty. We thought we were going to see something nice but not as nice as it was. Thanks TCD, I thought of the sunrise pictures from your very own trip repor
  9. I am in. Loving the report. I love taking pictures of the state signs as we enter and leave. There isn't much better than the MK and FW sign though. Looking forward to reading more. YC
  10. Love the fall fest pictures. The corn box always amazes me when the kids continue to flock to it. My kids love the troughs of it they have at Gentry Farm.
  11. Happy Halloween everyone. We just got back from our yearly rounds. I will miss it when the kids don't want to go anymore. Now to finish this TR off. The last morning had arrived, and neither my wife or I could sleep in, so we decided to get up and see if we could get to the Canyon for sunrise. We took a while to get coffee made and headed down the path to the overlook. What we saw was beautiful and peaceful as we were the only ones around. Drinking our hot coffee and holding hands we took in the beauty of God's creation. Here are a few pictures in panoramic mode. I included
  12. The scenery was great and I know we will look back on these pictures one day when we are\ in the "old folks home" and smile. Our kids will say to us remember when..and I hope we do. Thanks for reading along and all the nice things you commented. It is addicting to look for feedback. I was suprised by the lack of wildlife but at least there were no snakes. I was certain the kids were going to find on in those crevices they were in. When we left the disc golf course there were two people playing carrying bags of discs, had headbands on, and water in hand. The guy look like John McEnroe from
  13. Awesome coverage of the New Fantasyland. It sure is taking a long time on those bathrooms. Thanks for the excellent reporting.
  14. One of our party had to leave on the third day of our trip so after saying goodbyes the rest of us decided it was time to take another hike. Take a look at the picture below, we wanted to know what was on the other side of the Canyon. See those people there in that picture, that his where we are going on this day. Here are some pictures we took on the way. Really this was only about a 1 mile hike over there and then one mile back. Not bad at all. Here is a picture from the bridge crossing the creek at the bottom of the canyon just above the where saw the first falls in post number one. When
  15. Wonderful hike, this park had something for our whole group. I think your family would like it too, but you would likely be carrying Anna a lot. There are also some dangerous places for a Houdini like her. The youngest one on our trip was a first grader and he was whinning like crazy coming back up those stairs. There were alot of stopping points along the way so if you aren't in a hurry to get to the top it wouldn't be so bad. Thanks Rita there is just more and more to see in this park. You got that right seeing how tall my oldest has gotten has really brought home how quickly time goes
  16. Todd, I am absolutely loving this thread please keep them going. Yvonne, Beth's family does. We are going to try and get them over the holidays.
  17. After our stop at the first waterfall we decided to head further into the canyon using the Silton's Gulch trail. This is a 6.5 mile trail that went about halfway down. You can actually park a car at the end of the trail if you want. Next time we will do that, because I would rather walk 6.5 miles down hill than do what we did, which was half way down and half way up! Here is a panoramic picture made close to the first falls... I hope it looks as good on the baord. Here is a picture of us looking at the maps to figure out how to find the GeoCache. This was a fail but at least we were looking a
  18. Thanks, I couldn't believe how beautiful and accessible this park was. It is a must do. A poor man's Smoky Mountain. Might be worth considering a GG here next September. It is closer for the AL folks. Great weather for sure. I know you are a hammock fan yourself, you really ought to check into this brand they are awesome. I wish I had the hammock when I was in boyscouts. Encourage your son to get his Eagle Scout. I stopped at Life Scout and regret it at my age now. I would encourage you to try it sometime. Thanks Jeff, more on the way! Judy, glad to hear from you. This park isn't
  19. Bulletin Board was always out of date. Yes the construction at the outpost was in early June. It took your famous Purple Crayon drawing but I saw the bear in bear rock. I now have one picture of that rock from everyday I walked by it. Looks like some fun groups around for Halloween.
  20. Man, great pictures! I love going to the Smokies. Keep the report rolling.
