  1. The Tennessee River has been hard to tame over the years but the Tennessee Valley Authority is one of the true successes. Our water and electricity are cheaper and better here in TN because of their work on the river. CKCK--Sorry you found the smell bad at Neyland. Funny, I never notice a smell until the visiting team arrives. I always thought you guys brought it with you...I have always enjoyed my trip to Athens as more often than not it brings us the sweet smell of success. I am sorry I missed meeting you at the Fort we could have had a fun time talking football. I am taking my lumps no
  2. Lou, I am currently learning to drive a school bus and get my CDL. I wonder if WDW would fly me down to drive the weekends?
  3. We love this little corner of the world. The food here is so bad for you but we love it. There is a quiet sitting area too that never seems too crowded.
  4. Since TCD is out for the weekend, I hope this hijack isn't bad form. I saw Jason Aldean and some of the Duck Dynasty guys at a local hangout not long ago. Jason Aldean looked none too happy that the DD guys were getting all the attention. Can you believe a country music star ignored in Nashville? Those DD guys are funny.
  5. AC first, great trip report! Loving it and enjoy the time your family takes with the trip. This is how our family does it, especially when my kids were the same age as yours. I am going back to read your live report. Now about the the stinking comment... At least the Tennessee River had the good sense when it was forced to flow into Alabama to turn around and come back. It was fortunate enough to avoid GA completely. It is one of the few rivers in the Northern Hemisphere to flow north for any great distance. Regardless, I love reading from all the Fiends, even those that make fun of our gre
  6. As an increasingly rare native of TN, let's remember that both Dave and Bob are transplants; and they are both opinionated and offensive at times. We don't care Tennesseans are nice to everyone....
  7. Dang, slow again only page 2, but that beats pg. 3! I sure wish I lived close enough to make weekend trips to the Fort. I love being able to read about yours. Thanks again for sharing.
  8. We love that ride and my wife and son did the behind the scenes tour last summer. I can't wait to see how your experiment works out. Thanks for posting
  9. Okay, I may be in the minority here, but I love going to the crazy busy Walmart. There is so much to see it is overload. I love the bright colors and we love people watching as well as counting how many different states we can find on the license plates in the parking lot. It is an amusement park of its own.
  10. Is this coming from or going to Tomorrowland? I think this must be coming from. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride on the left and 20,000 leagues on the right.
  11. Dave you need to teach me how to drink Scotch! I have never had any and my father never drank it, that I know of. Now the beer that is a different story...
  12. Didn't you just love having the Osborne lights so empty? I remember when it was down the old row of houses where the Stunt Car show is now, not nearly as impressive as now. The CM told me they just cut down the lights and throw them away. I am not sure if I believe him or not. Thanks for sharing your shots of NYE, I always wondered just how bad it could be.
  13. Believe this or not, but it is true, there are small horse breeds that are considered service animals. It would not surprise me that Disney would have to allow these same horses as service animals and provide an area for them. If I were guessing could this possibly be a retouch of the area looking toward the left as you just walked across the bridge from the 1500 loop toward the tennis courts?
  14. We love the CP and have been to it both times we have been while it is playing. I agree that it is good to see Disney celebrate the Reason for Christmas. I have to disagree about Damn Judy Dench, I always enjoy her narration. I also enjoy it when I need a nap too. Going in SE that late at night I would have been out for sure. Loving the report. Also we love that YMCA too and comment on it every time we go down. I guess the next time we will have to go the I-4 route since we haven't gone that way in so long.
  15. but they have the best beignets for breakfast move on nothing more to read here...
  16. It also looked to me at the very end of the video there was a creepy guy, bald maybe, with a 35mm camera taking pictures of your daughters dancing. Stranger Danger!!
  17. Loving the tour Lou, can't wait for the next verse.
  18. Your drawings aren't bad and getting better, we got to draw Jiminy with Brian on one of our trips. Love that attraction, thanks for sharing your pictures it is really fun to see you guys enjoy that. Awesome picture of the TOT, award winning lighting you have there!! Love it, I almost can feel my stomach lurching in anticipation. We shared your desire to be at the canopy without a crowd as well. As luck would have it in 2011 on Thanksgiving night we had eaten dinner at the Hollywood Derby and were late getting out of there due to the place being so busy. The park had just closed but we heade
  19. Thanks for the report Carol, I hope you Rick and the other Fiends are all recovered. You know what they say a sick day at disney is better than a healthy day any where.
  20. Love the parade pictures. Glad to know the line moves that fast it will be a must do for us when the next trip comes around. I was glad to see that Fort Sled in the parade, do you know if it tours the Fort or not? I have only ever seen it parked by the petting zoo in a shed.
  21. Boat over to the Poly get some Dole Whip at Capt Cooks and watch the movie on their beach waiting for the fireworks display. The Dole Whip makes the trip worth leaving Clementines Beach. I also second riding the bikes to the WL on the path along the edge of the lake.
  22. I even saw where this was coming and I only managed page 3. Bragging rights for page 3!!! Loving the report, thanks again for sharing.
  23. If someone stayed in a partial that averaged $80 per day for the year that would be $29,200. The typical house payment on a $350,000 home is $31,000 for a year. So you could stay at Disney if you gave up your house payments for a year. (Yes these numbers assume a lot but the point is, it is expensive to stay at Disney)
