Ticket Prices Going Up Again.....
YENSIDCAMPER replied to mouseketab.....Carol's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
Dave is right, but I don't like it. I have hopes that my children will be able to share their Disney memories with their own children. Both of my children had their first haircuts on Main Street for crying out loud. They were raised on Disney and at this rate I am skeptical they will be able to pass it along. Things change, but I do not think that Walt's vision was to have the park priced out of the reach of the working class. They are getting very close. -

You are right there is no place better, however most of us don't want to spend all of our vacation money in one place. It used to be we could vacation at Disney and still do other smaller weekend trips throughout the year. Or we could go to Disney more often in the year. Now it will be Disney and nothing much else for the year. -

I am with AuburnJen, if we go back down for the parks we will stay at Turkey Lake off property, if we are going to enjoy the Fort we won't go to the parks. We will be there on the 24th of May any chance you guys will be around? -

Sadly this summer is probably the last trip we will take to WDW and the Fort for many years. Mainly due to the age of my children and wanting to take them out west. However the high cost of Disney is the other reason. Disney will likely become a one and done for many families, given this current rate of inflation. -
I installed our Prodigy brake controller. Our van didn't just "plug and play" like most of the new trucks do. It wasn't difficult and the directions were pretty easy to follow. I second what others have said. Get the controller installed first before towing. I can actually stop quicker towing than I can not towing because the trailer brakes are so good. The Prodigy controller has worked flawlessly for 8 years now. I would highly recommend it. Good luck. I find as our brakes heat up I have to dial back the controller a little or the brakes grab too harshly. When they are cold they ne

24 Hour Party 2014 - Rock Your Disney Side
YENSIDCAMPER replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
Unlike Dave I would love to be there. I was pumped because I saw it was Memorial Day weekend. Then I saw it was from 6am on the 23rd to 6am on the 24th. I am so bummed as we will arrive around 2pm on the 24th. Can't leave earlier because school is still in session for us until the 23rd. #bummed -

HTT in a partial loop?
YENSIDCAMPER replied to geoffdaddy's topic in Fort Wilderness Loops Information
We saw a full sized TT in the 2000 loop one year, as well as an RPOD ( a large tear drop type trailer). Your HTT is shorter than my pop up. You should be fine in a partial. In general the 2000 loop has more room on the sites. -
What a great place to camp with a young family. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Any progress today? -
We have stayed in the 2000 loop a couple of times and enjoyed it because it felt more like camping because the sites are bigger and have decent foliage. We did not encounter any large groups causing problems. We even met the TeePee crowd at Thanksgiving and they were very nice and showed us around their camp and Tee Pees. The cut thru to the 900 loop isn't bad at all. The 1500 is more like the theme park camping experience, louder more compact and easier access to the pool. My wife and wanted the 2000 loop on our next trip our two boys want back in the 1500 if that tells you anything.

Welcome To WDW 1970's/ 80's and 90's

Seeing topiaries from the monorail are one of the few memories I have left from my first visit to Disney World in 1975. -
Welcome! I have a 2002 Coleman/Fleetwood Bayside Popup Camper that I tow with a 2004 Honda Odyssey. The Popup GVWR is 3250#. The van's towing capacity is 3500#. I have weighed and reweighed these things over the years fully packed and we sometimes tow right at capacity of the van. I put a Reese 350 mini weight distributing hitch which has built in sway control. We have towed from Middle Tennessee to Richmond,VA, The Great Smoky Mountains, WDW multiple times. We have had no problems. The 2000-2003 Honda Vans have a weak transmission that was corrected in the 2004 and later versions. I

Happy Fall Y'all! TCD's September 2013 Not So Scary TR
YENSIDCAMPER replied to Tri-Circle-D's topic in Trip Reports
Don't you people work? Jeez, I can't make page one of anything. Page 2 is better than 3 though! That pretzel brat looks no where near as good as the pretzel dog at DHS! I hope you got one of those this trip. -
Enjoying the TR, can't wait to read more.

Sounds like you have a plan and the desire. You can do it, don't get nervous and take your time. We all had a learning curve and you will overcome it. Have a blast at the Fort! -
Me and Mrs. YC are in. Bring on the rants and the fun.
