  1. If we're going on a long family trip, I want to be at the Fort. BUT, as Z gets older, I see myself drawn to Disney more than Jason can go. That's why a small contract is appealing to me.
  2. Fried food? I bet there were some `Ohana moments! We need to go to Raglan Road. They have one of the best beer selections on property and pretty dancers. That might make Jason agree to more trips. So we're on page 21, and the worst thing we've read is that the monorail broke down while you were on a date with your beautiful wife. And you still made the fireworks. This trip is horrible!
  3. TCD, didn't you see they're bringing Elsa and Anna BACK to DHS? Isn't that magical enough? And you can ride thrill rides!
  4. From Disney, you have to buy 160 I think. Resale, you can find contracts of 25 points, but they are rare.
  5. I've seen AKL sell even a little lower than $91 a point, so yes that price is possible. 50 points could get you 5 weeknight stay in a studio there in the lowest season.

  7. I agree with you for the most part, however, I've been looking at small contracts around 50 points. That many points would allow me to stay 4-5 nights at some of the studios per year or 3 nights at others. Let's use an AKL listing as an example. That contract was for sale for $91 a point, so it would cost $4550 for me to by it. SSR and OLK are cheaper, but AKL expires 15 years after OKW. The dues on that contract this year would be $315 this year. Here's the thing though.... If they continue to offer discounts for members on AP, I would save arund $100 per person per year on APs for m
  8. Yep, $6.02 per point at that resort, apparently. I can't find the expiration date. It's too new to be listed on the charts I'm finding. I think they're usually good for 40 years. Someone can correct me though.
  9. Welcome!!!! We have a member here who might still be selling a tow dolly that can tow a car and cart. Hopefully Grumpy will be by soon.
  10. Links to where I found the info... http://www.dvcnews.com/index.php/dvc-program/financial/pricing-a-promotions http://www.resalesdvc.com/DVC_Point_Charts_2015/page_2602933.html
  11. Here's a link. The number of points varies a lot depending on the time of year. For the 2 bedroom Poly Bungalows... A week between Dec 1-15 is 841 points. A week between Dec 24-31 is 1439 points. For comparison at the WL, a week in a 2 bedroom between Dec 1-15 is 269 points. A week between Dec 24-31 is 457. If you buy the points at the Poly, they're currently $165 each.
  12. I think the current point cost is something like $160 a point. However, you can buy resales for between $60-105 a point. I estimate the cost of one of those bungalows to be $100,000 a week. Ha ha ha! Actually, I'll check though.
  13. He's mostly giving detailed pictures and showing what is available at each, so I trust the review. Sure, it might be slightly pro-DVC, but I think showing what is available is helpful.
  14. EasyWDW has been posting some sponsored DVC resort reviews. Basically, a company is letting him have a 1 night stay for free in exchange for him posting a review. They've come at an interesting time because I've been playing with the idea of buying a resale. 15. I know why this place is so successful... You know what that old place never had?
  16. Big tents can be pretty complicated. I wouldn't try one for the first time in the dark, especially that late at night. I think it depends on your wants and budget. I really like Fort Camper Rental. Curt's a great guy and even leaves gifts for the kids (if you have them). But I also know some people are serious tent campers. We used to be that way. I'd just have a hard time renting a tent for that price when for about $30 more I'd have a fridge and other amenities. If you decide to tent, I'd practice setting it up. Some are easy. Sadly, the last Coleman we bought was a nightmare.
  17. Interesting. I might just have to share that with my favorite nerd.
  18. I'm tempted to try that, but I'm not sure why. I already have a lunch and dinner ADR. I'm sure the food at Trail's End is better.
