  1. Cool! Is it the genie as a character? I'm assuming not but trying to picture this.
  2. WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to let others chime in here, but I just wanted to say that. We always just use the Fort's cable. I know someone will be along to help out though.
  3. Honestly, I think I need to quit reading this thread. It's called Fort WILDERNESS, right?
  4. I'm all for enforcing rules (especially kids driving golf carts), but what amenities do the Value resorts have that the Fort doesn't? The Fort has a water slide, splash area, a TS restaurant, 2 dinner shows, a boat to the MK, a marina, beach area, fireworks viewing... the Value resorts don't have any of that. I had a great stay at a Value this summer, but I honestly can't think of anything they have that the Fort doesn't. EDITED to add that I can't believe I forgot about the campfire with the only place I know if that you can see any Disney characters without paying for a meal or park ent
  5. Sorry to argue, but why does the Fort DESERVE a lazy river? Isn't Stormalong Bay the only resort pool to have one? The people at the 2 deluxe resorts that share that pool area pay WAY more than we do. I'd love to see RC reopened, but it's not going to happen. And if it did, what would happen to the rates at the Fort?
  6. WELCOME! If it was just one afternoon, I'd still go. Like others have said, there are plenty of places to go that will be dry. The Wilderness Lodge is a quick bus ride away. It's pretty, and you can hit Territory Lounge without a reservation. Or like Jason said, head to Downtown Disney. Raglan Road and the dancing (and bread pudding) will keep you occupied until it blows over. Make sure you don't have anything touching the sides of the tent as that can cause it to wick water.
  7. Yum!!! Jason smoke a pork butt and made salsa with veggies cooked on the egg. Both were awesome! I'll have to see if he has some pictures.
  8. Snarky Fairy makes a good point though. Take away the theme park even.... most campgrounds with the amenities of the Fort charge around what they do. Look at Camp Gulf on the panhandle or any of the private campgrounds in the Keys.
  9. This is a great fire pit that folds down to almost nothing. We love it at the Fort. I'm pretty sure I paid less than $100 for it though. http://www.amazon.com/Masterbuilt-GMFP20-Grizzly-Portable-Fireplace/dp/B000FF8PQ6/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1454735600&sr=8-14&keywords=fire+pit+with+top+grill
  10. 1) TCD is referencing my boyfriend. 2) It would probably help if they assured people they weren't going to take ADRs. Some people are probably afraid to cancel because the system could change any day. 3) I like the looks of the menu and hope it doesn't change too much.
  11. I agree with most of this. I still love the Fort. The prices are high, but it has way more amenities than most other campgrounds we go to. Am I likely to complain about our Christmas rate? Yes, but for us, it's still "worth it."
  12. Weird... It just takes me down to $353 a night. Do they give you a better deal because you live in NC?
  13. Just searched Feb 19-21 for the 3 of us... cheapest room is $379 a night.
  14. This will save them SO MANY calls. I'm not sure why it's taken so long to do it. Oh wait, maybe because of the IT department. LOL
