  1. I prefer Bald Ridge and the redone parts of Shady Grove. Shoal Creek is close to Lake Lanier Islands though, and I think you can get packages that include tickets, etc.
  2. Go Dawgs! We camp on Lanier a good bit. Let me know if you need some tips on campgrounds and sites.
  3. I know T-Rex doesn't, so I'm guessing Rainforest doesn't either, but their portions are HUGE. I could barely eat half my meal. It would be a good place to share for sure.
  4. Welcome!!!! Where in GA do you live? We're north of Atlanta and have a boat on Lanier. You should head over to the introduction thread and introduce yourself for your official Fiend welcome! (Although you've gotten a pretty good one already)
  5. I must make these on the Big Green Egg.
  6. My parents probably regretted ever taking me to the Tiki Room. I LOVED it as a kid. First, they had to buy me one of the overpriced animated birds. Eventually, I had a real, talking bird. Yep, and it's all because of the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room. Z has never been there. I can't wait to hear about O'h'a'n'a' since I am finally eating there in July!
  7. We haven't ever been but have a dinner ADR. Their stuff looks huge.
  8. I'm looking forward to doing this with my mom. Jason WILL NOT split. And we always end up with leftovers. Even without being on the dining plan, I start to feel WAY too full after a few days. If we do buffets on back to back days, I feel like a blimp!
  9. The Wave also has a nicely priced lunch menu and serves lunch until 2. It would be a quick walk from MK.
  10. I know Kona at the Poly has a very reasonable lunch menu. It's different from dinner. I've heard great things about it.
  11. I'm all for more beer. :) Since we won't have a kitchen in July, I'm looking to stretch my dining dollars too. I know places like Tusker House that offer continuous services transition the food, so the late breakfasts get some lunch items too. But I've been debating between breakfast and lunch at Tusker House, and the prices are about the same. But still a meal that takes the place of 2 is a good deal. We're also eating at Via (whatever) pizzeria in Epcot. I've heard great things about their pizza and splitting it is pretty reasonable to split.
  12. The problem is that very few restaurants offer a different lunch vs dinner menu now because of the DDP.
  13. We can't do late lunches because Z still naps, but you can also do that at the breakfast buffets too. Small snack in the morning, then pig out around 10:40, no need for lunch! We did that at CRT with great success.
  14. I was hoping to get am 8:00 ADR for Tusker House, but I was able to get an 8:15. What are my chances of being seated at 8:00? I've had good luck with that at other meals but I've never made an ADR before park opening. If not, will 8:15 give us enough time to be finished by 9:00? Also, I never really ride buses. What time will the buses start running to AK?
  15. You make a good point, we're not really dessert people. That makes a big difference. We sometimes split one for the family after a TS meal, but there is no way I'd ever get on at a CS meal. Now if they start giving out salted caramels as a CS dessert, I'm IN! I'm jealous of the TIW card and wish I could get one.
  16. You know how I was surprised you guys had been running the heat when we first met? We ran ours almost every night!
  17. Crab legs... you're really just warming here, but the wood charcoal adds yummy goodness. Sprinkle crab legs with a bit of water and Old Bay. Throw them on the egg in a pan for about 10 minutes.
  18. Why are you quoting international numbers after making a point that they are catering to U.S. visitors? Are the Star Wars numbers for one movie or all the movies? Do you want to bet a back stage tour that the new Star Wars movie out grosses Avatar II? I also liked the movie, but I don't get building the land over a much more popular series of movies.
  19. I get that eating is part of the trip, and we definitely make ADRs and plan around/look forward to meals. If you pay me $100, I'll go and put that dining plan money on a Disney gift card for you. You can prepay, and if you don't use all the money (and you won't) you can use it to buy other stuff. (OK, or you could get your own gift card, but I'm trying to make it convenient for you.)
  20. I got it, and I'm a girl. But I also didn't go to UF, so I'm clearly smarter than some.
