From what I understand, a soft opening at DHS is fairly common, and it's purpose is to prevent the stampede to TSMM. It's common enough during busy times, that I actually plan for it. I think we were let in 30 minutes or more early on our trip. I'd have to go back and check my report. It was the same the year before as well.

We ate here on our trip and liked it. Z had a BALL dancing with characters. I thought the food was good but nothing stood out as AMAZING. It didn't help that we did too many buffets on our trip. Why didn't I do the pasta station? Fail for me. The desserts were my favorite part, besides Z's excitement of course.

A few things... Why are you DRIVING to the Poly? You are going on a pub crawl. If you are legit, neither of you should be able to drive back. (see my comments about leaving my lobster and anniversary cake on the monorail). THAT'S how you roll on a drunk-a-versary. If you have to walk all the way down, I feel a TCD rant coming on....

I wish Disney built things that fast.

Four Seasons is worse than SMB. But SMB is already FF-ease so I'm not sure it can be replaced. We can include De-vine for Dave, even though I think she's kind of cool. Should Tinker Bill make the scale?

My dad didn't go to Tech. He became a fan after moving to GA from New Jersey. Something about GA fans being drunk and obnoxious. My mother, well, something bad happened to her the 7 years we lived in FL. As far as the fish of the day, didn't you link the the menu? I saw it there. Sounds good and different than sandwiches and salads. I have a feeling I'll be eating there a good bit in July, so let me know if you find out more.

Can the noodles at Captain Cook's come as a side, even when they aren't listed? For example, fish of the day with noodles?

We never stay for the movie because Z is usually tired. Sounds like that it a good choice. What crappy parents on the slide. Good parents know you have one at the top and one that stays at the bottom to snap a picture as your kid wipes out in the water (like my husband did). That's a 4 year old on a slide picture that even a troll can appreciate. :)

Now that we have the scale set (although I agree with Gwen's comment above), are we finally going to get an update???

Glad you started this thread because I'm flying in July.

At those prices, I'd do the Fort. It's still a good bit cheaper. I got a conference rate for the Poly, and my husband can't come (I'd have to rent a trailer or pop-up), so for my trip, the Poly is about the same price as the Fort. Even so, I'm going to miss it.

Now that I got that point across, yay for shrimp and grits!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the shout out! I think they were delicious and a good value. I would have liked a tad more grits, but YUM. And with my whole family except me being from NJ, they'd never understand. Too bad for them!

Yum!!!! I blame my Lapu Lapu for making me leave my leftovers on the monorail after our anniversary dinner. As far as not taking Z to the Tiki Room, did you read the part about it causing me to own a real bird as a kid? I don't want that to happen again. No birds in my house!

The only thing I don't get is that as an out of town Disney guest, a reasonably priced SMALL water park just a boat ride from the MK and all the monorail resorts is way more appealing than a super expensive water park that requires a whole day of extra planning on its own. Pool hopping is super popular. RC would be too.

This looks perfect for tailgating too! I could never just make it here because I would eat it all.

Dinner tonight is country ribs, indirect low heat for 4 hours. They're almost done, and I can't wait!

I want some of those glow ears!!!! Why doesn't WDW have them. It's rare for them to miss a money making opportunity!
