  1. There's also some places to throw a ball down by the Settlement. Enjoy! I'd try to get there early for sure! Worst case, you can park in the overflow lot and explore the Fort.
  2. The underwater statue is creepy and a shame. Cracking up about the port-o-potty on the bridge. Crazy looking McDonalds! I love Amish markets! The baked goods are sooooooooooooo good. Too bad we don't have Amish in GA.
  3. We tried a new place for dinner last night. It's called Local Catch, and it's GOOD. Apparently the building was something else before, but I'm not sure what. It's a short drive down 30A from the campground. Here's some food. Both of our dinners also came with salad. Shrimp and Grits.... if it's on the menu, you can guess I'm ordering it, so I'm kind of an expert. This version was tasty! Jason got the roast beef po boy with pan dripping gravy. The gravy might make it look a little gross, but OMG it was good. For dessert, we had to try the fried Oreos and cream. I'm pretty sure this
  4. Glad you liked the site photos. Since you can pick your site when you book, they are helpful. That have pictures of the sites on reserveamerica too, but you never know how current. We love it here! I've heard the cabins are pretty nice. The big ones don't have any trees around them. Not sure if that would bother you or not. They all have screened porches. It's important that you book 11 months in advance if you want to go during peak season, not soon after that otherwise. This is a very popular park. I love walking on the beach in the evening. Cool! Both are very nice sites.
  5. Here it is.... the last of my photopass pictures. We only did 2 1/2 park days. This last day was really a date evening at Epcot for Jason and me. Yay! As I reported earlier, we had a good time. Here are our pics.... I really like this one! And that's all folks! Thanks for reading along.
  6. The important thing is that I'm anti-mayo, so no mayo in my crab cakes. Butter! Wait, we found some things you like! Yay!!!! Oh and beer. You like beer!
  7. Here's update #2 for the day. Then, that's all I've got for now. This is mostly for those interested in visiting Topsail, trying to give you an idea of what it's like. There’s a sand sculpture when you enter the park right now. Some people (and you know who you are) think Grayton Beach is as nice of a campground. That person is deluded. But what can you expect from a Gator? Here’s the one of the lakes near the front of the campground. Shuffleboard near the pool Let’s look at some of the sites. They’re nice. I’ve only taken pictures of sites that were empty when I walked by
  8. Yep, POD. And do you see Z running to it. We knew how hot it would be from going there before. We let him play for 3 minutes and made him promise no slides. It was 3 minutes of torture, even with a cold beer. I don't get it. LOL. It's my grandmother's recipe. She was from NJ though.
  9. We left off after the beach and naptime. When Z woke up, he wanted to go to the pool. So we did. The pool here is small, but it’s not usually crowded. Sometimes, we’re the only people there. Not today. It was pretty crowded. Next to the pool there is a pond that you can fish in, well 2 actually. And a building where they hold programs. For summer, they have a kids program in the mornings on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I think I’m going to send Z next week, assuming he’s old enough. Look the building has chairs you can relax in. There’s only 1 rocker, but no one is there.
  10. The beach at Topsail isn't crowded. And there isn't sand at the sites. That's one thing my Jason really likes about it- no sand in the RV.
  11. Exactly. It would be fun! Great! Thanks for reading! Haven't we established that you pretty much hate everything? Weirdos! Aren't they? We love it. I should actually probably stop telling people about it though. It's already hard to get a site. Amen! We looooooooooooooooooove camping here. And it's cheaper than the Fort, lots cheaper. You're only half crazy then. I hope you're there now. I like Ocean City a lot.
  12. Seriously! We hire a Santa to come to our house for pictures too. We split it with other families and make it a brunch. So much better than the mall!
  13. OK, this will be my second to last post. Let's wrap up HS with another awesome series of Z meeting a favorite. I'm not sure which is better, this one with Jake or the Rapunzel. Want to vote? Z showing Jake that he's wearing a Jake shirt. This is what joy looks like. You might remember from the real TR that I spent the evening at HS with just my dad. Here are some magic shots we did. All that's left is Jason and my date night at Epcot. For some reason, they're not uploaded into photobucket, so that will be a separate and final update.
  14. I really love getting the photopass CD. Thanks! Me too! I think I'm going to frame it for him for Father's Day.
  15. Welcome aboard... I "might" be trying to convince you to come next year. :)
  16. My husband is a computer nerd. And he's blessed enough to own part of one business and do contract work for another. That makes trips like this possible. If you keep following, you'll see we're here for a nice amount of time. You're right; it's beautiful, even if it wasn't on the beach, but it IS!!! Whooo Hoooo!!!! I don't get not liking the beach. Besides being a UF fan, what's wrong with you? Can't stand it? I don't get it. The beach is my therapy. Right? I freaking love that kid. And he loves everything about the beach. Great! You'll probably be tired of them in 16 days,
  17. The boy is asleep, and I have all my camping "chores" done, so let's start a sometimes live trip report. After all, he'll be napping every day, and we're here a long time. Might as well do some writing. We're at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. In my heart, it's tied with the Fort for favorite places to camp. I love them for totally different reasons. At the Fort and Disney, there is so much to do; you can always experience something new. At Topsail, there's really nothing to do. That's nice sometimes. It's especially nice when I finish up a school year. The last part of the drive is pr
  18. The crowds you are showing from the Fort and the parks make Easter week look tame. PS- Gators and cockroaches have a lot in common....
  19. When we go to HS, there are 2 priorities for Z- Woody & Buzz and Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Here's the first. Love this one! Family picture!
