  1. TCD, you need to send the link to the Hipsters to get their opinion! I dare you!
  2. There might be less posting these days, but this is some funny, funny stuff.
  3. Sorry, I have to interrupt the onion talk with an update. :rofl2: We arrived back at the resort just before 3:00. My friend and I were a little nervous because the sky and weather predictions weren’t looking great. We had debated canceling the day before because of that but decided to chance it. I knew we’d get refunded if they closed the pool and figured we could at least pay a prorated rate if we got to use it part of the time. Everyone went to change, and I checked us in. The lady let me know they weren’t charging me yet because it would probably rain. I said OK and went to change. For
  4. Sounds good! It is law now. I'm with you. Thin onions (but cooked). SUBS It wasn't really a problem. I thought it was funny. Uh oh, now you're wrong again. Ewwwwww McDonalds. That's Dave's job. Finally someone gets it. Caramelized onions are the only way to go. Gross.
  5. Meat cones=Gross I read recently that they've discontinued the hat lady at R&C. I've never seen her, but she's popular, so I don't get that. Don't you love how there's always a chair at the quiet pool? Do we need to spread the word to Fort freeloaders?
  6. And since you're not used to scooters (my husband wasn't either) I think it's important to point out that the off-site ones are much easier to turn, etc because they are narrower. Jason had a 3 wheel one and that really helped. He had an injured knee, so this was our first (and hopefully only!) experience with a scooter, but they made it easy and it was much better than him trying to walk and only being able to be out a couple of hours.
  7. I recommend the golf cart company that is our sponsor and Apple Scooter. We used both on our last visit to the Fort.
  8. If you are going to do a character meal, I would recommend Tusker House. My only comment would be that the character interaction could be better, especially since it was only half full. It wasn't bad, but it was great. It could easily be great. I don't think a lot of people realize Mickey is there. And yes, FREE! I did have cornbread, both traditional and mealy. And it is good! (But Trails End/HDDR cornbread is better) Dave brings the place down. :rofl2: There will be many pictures of Z and ladies coming. He turned it up after his buddy left. Something was your fault? T
  9. We usually spend a few hours at Destin Commons when we visit the area. We grabbed drinks and apps at the Back Porch when we were there because it was raining. I'm not sure I'd swim with the alligator sign posted. Good report! Looks like a pretty cool place.
  10. That's making good use of a sandwich maker!!!! I'm writing my dissertation. I'll be finished one day.... I hope.
  11. Was Star Wars Land officially announced and I just missed that? When we were at DHS, the CMs in that area were talking about it like fact and very excited. I was thinking it was unconfirmed so far.
  12. We also have 2 of that style, but they take up a lot of room and floor space, so we don't always use them. They are comfortable though.
  13. I read $50 to replace it, so hold on to it! And yes, you can only make FP+ reservations for 1 park per day. I'd pick the second park and RD the first.
  14. OK, let’s finish up AK before this report falls farther off the tracks. After Kali we headed over to Camp Minnie Mickey. It’s been well documented that Z loves the ladies, especially ones with long hair. So….. the first character we met was Pocahontas. He was really nervous in a cute way. See him biting his finger? Ha ha Next we met Baloo and King Louie And lastly, Chip and Dale. Chip and Dale had EXCELLENT interaction with the boys. They were tickling them and covering their eyes and just being silly. They really took a long time with them, and it was really cute. I’ll post
  15. Everyone who believes Dave, raise your hand. Dave, do you see any hands up? I didn't think so. See weirdoes. They're subs. Yeah, you aren't helping your case. Nope, they're subs. Now you're sounding like Dave. And no more talk about sandwiches. Remember, I'm wanting to order those and have them overnighted, and you guys aren't helping me tell myself NO.
  16. We were lucky to get no bad jokes on our safari. I was worried about that. I was never in a Poly room before, but based on the pictures I saw, I think the rehab was a big improvement. Thanks! I never had seen the lions that well either. In fact, I'm not sure I'd ever seen a female there at all. Sorry, I think I had just read some of your comments elsewhere, so my mind was in the gutter. And YAY!!!! You like something! Yes, the photos are in order. I bet you are right. You are a weirdo! We loved the view, and it was considered a standard view since we couldn't see the lake o
  17. I get being anti-poncho. I put it on at the last minute. And I wore quick drying pants because I know some get soaked on this ride. It was fun to ride with a waterproof camera! Next time I want Z across from me. I actually went to the conference because I seriously needed some of the sessions. But, as a returning doctoral student, my needs were very specialized and just on 3 days, and we stayed 7 nights. The last time I went I was super busy for 5 days. This time I was basically meeting one-on-one with my dissertation chair and other folks instead of big sessions. The rain was crazy, an
  18. I figure this is totally made up, but wouldn't it be cool? I'm really just posting it because I've mentioned Lou's name twice in my TR, and he hasn't commented. http://www.disneyhipsters.com/2013/07/nighttime-show-rivers-of-light-coming.html?spref=tw
