  1. Welcome! We've been there the last 2 years for Easter. You can get pictures with Mickey and Minnie. Mickey will be in his Fort costume, and Minnie will be in an Easter dress. Even though you're not traveling with kids, looking at the designs they make for the candy scramble is cool. You can see last year in my April TR in my signature. In 2012 I think I did a separate Easter post with pictures.
  2. Great start! Disney loves to make money, so I can't believe they don't have other ways to buy those shoes.
  3. My mom and I split the arancini appetizer and an individual pizza and couldn't finish it all. The individual pizza is about 12 inches, but the crust is thin. I'm not sure how big the large is, but I think it would feed 2-3 real adults. If you're with more than 2-3 people, the Mezzo Metro pizza is huge. Here's a youtube video that shows the size. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpCeqbqh8VE The sangria there is also reasonable... $20 for a pitcher. The pizza is sooooooooooooo good. Lunch ADRs fill up fast because a family of 4 can eat there for about the cost of a counter service place.
  4. Also, Via Napoli, the pizza place in Epcot's Italy pavilion rocks and can be a reasonably priced meal if you stick to pizza.
  5. I've been thinking about this question.... it's too hard. What are they looking for? I think for a kid's first trip, Chef Mickey's is a must. It's a classic character meal. Value-wise, a GAG is a no brainer. Dinner at `Ohana is fantastic.
  6. Here's my write up including an awesome picture of me dancing. The reason we went a second time was because Zachary and his friend were still talking about it. http://www.fortfiends.net/forum/topic/6088-mickeys-backyard-bbq/?fromsearch=1
  7. The food is similar (sides are the same, BBQ chicken instead of fried). We love it. The characters pose for pictures before and after but not during. The kids get to dance with them. I have pictures of it in the April trip report in my signature. I also did a separate thread about it. I'll see of I can find it. I consider it a must do for people with kids that like characters.
  8. If I had a problem, I'm 100% sure that Jason would fix it. I text him all the time, often not during business hours, and he responds immediately.
  9. I would tell you the secret, but you're a Vol fan.... JK! I agree that it depends more on the site. I think the inner circle of 1400 is pretty quite and has very little car traffic if you've got little ones.
  10. Yes, RCCL does the cruise/train trip. I've been reading this trip report of someone who did it. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1852077 Since we have a free place to stay in Anchorage, we'd probably fly there. Stay for about 5 days, take the train to Seward, possibly stay there a night or 2, and then cruise.
  11. I'm going to check out your TR. I WISH we could do Disney.
  12. We do have the option of using our friend's pop-up while we're there. I'm thinking we'll stay in and around Anchorage for about 5 days. Tim, find that TR!
  13. Jason puts up with my OCD planning. And he even changed my cabin in minutes on our RCCL when I found out that a corner aft cabin became available at like 9:30 PM. That's service!
  14. Something shocking might happen in 2015. The GaDawgFan family might not go to Topsail in June. I'm pretty sure we've gone to Topsail every year since the first time we went. And the trips there just get longer. We love it there. It would take something BIG to pull us away. So you've probably figured out from this thread.... we think we're going to go to Alaska! That's big right??? It's one of our bucket list trips. The only problem is that it has to be in the summer, and we'd probably need 2 weeks. That makes Topsail impossible. But we can deal with no Topsail for a year right? Actually, who a
  15. How many of you slept in the driveway the first night after you bought it? I bet a lot do. We did with our trailer. When we traded it for our Class C, we were in the middle of a camping trip, so we slept in it that night too (but at a campground).
  16. I think the joking around is funny. I only fight back, so Josh doesn't google himself and think I'm a real stalker. Your theory isn't blown. It's not the summer camp at the beginning, but they all go camping at the end with the dad's girlfriend. That part is in California. We need to find out if they give the name. I think there's a good chance....
  17. That's the summer camp where they met. What about where they camp as a family? I can't find that.
  18. OK, Wikipedia gives the REAL names for the summer camp and place they go camping as a family. "The film was shot mostly at various locales in California. The summer camp scenes were filmed at Bluff Lake Camp (then owned by the Pasadena YMCA, now by Habonim Dror's Camp Gilboa) and the family camping scenes later in the movie at Cedar Lake Camp, both in the San Bernardino Mountains near the city of Big Bear Lake in Southern California." Now we need to know what they're called in the movie!
  19. We need to get to the bottom of that shirt. The Parent Trap idea is a good one. It has a Disney tag, so it means SOMETHING. Is it only sold at the Fort? And I am a Josh fan. You know why? 1) He's a blogger that actually goes to Disney regularly... like every week. 2) He gives real opinions, and I tend to agree with his. I especially like his restaurant info. 3) He takes awesome pictures 4) He gives away info for free that places like TouringPlans and TourGuideMike charge for. See, what's not to like?
