Our favorite local spots are: Bald Ridge Creek on Lake Lanier (online booking) Shady Grove on Lake Lanier (you have to book via phone 30 days in advance) One that we really enjoy to location and amenities is River Vista in northwest GA. You have no privacy, but they have a pool, huge indoor hot tub (kind of like a pool when it's winter), planned activities, and it's super close to the Dillard House (OMG!!!! YUM!) and Highlands, NC. Stone Mountain also has a pool. We've visited there (including visiting Fiends at the campground), but I've never camped there. We will be in October.

Darn it, Lou is going to be close enough for me to harass. But my stepdaughter is graduating this weekend, and we somehow have to squeeze in getting ready for the beach.

I might be a bad mom/teacher. Eggtoberfest (Big Green Egg Festival) is the same weekend as Frozen on Ice. I already promised Jason we'd go to that, so Z and I are both taking a personal day off school to have a mom/son day before we meet Jason at the campground. 9th row, center stage!

Thanks so much for reading! You are considering RCCL for the exact same reasons we did. Z LOVED the cruise. He knows that Disney has cruises because of the commercials and big ad at Costco, but he never was upset about not having Disney characters around. He already had one of the Madagascar movies, and I got him Shrek and Kung Fu Panda so he would know who all the characters were. We're looking for an overnight on our way to Topsail Hill. We check in Saturday, but would like to do most of the drive Friday night and stay somewhere close. There are several campgrounds in the area, but many look either scary or like a destination place themselves. Has anyone stayed at Florida Springs RV Resort & Campground in Bonifay, FL? It doesn't look like much, but doesn't look like it's all full-timers either.

That REALLY stinks. Hopefully it won't be an issue in GA.
