  1. Yes, it should be less depressing from here. Really, there are 3 Donut Holes? Actually it makes sense since there aren't a lot of breakfast options around here.
  2. Welcome! Because Topsail is a nature preserve, they aren't going to fix it. The black sand will get washed away eventually, and the flooding should dry up. The dunes will never be the same though. I can't imagine how high the water was. The trench it made is probably 10 feet deep.
  3. Playing made Z tired. He chilled in the trailer for a bit. We headed back because my friend and her daughter were coming to visit for a few days. The path to the beach is flooded as well. I relaxed some. Jason set up the Egg. Then Z did some bike riding. Once my friend arrived we took the kids to the playground and then ate dinner. Having the Egg here is even better than I thought! We are with our friends staying here and my friend who is just here for a couple of days. There was salad too but no picture of that. This morning we hit the Donut Hole for some breakfast. See, all the
  4. Get ready. Here they come. In the morning, we moved to our new site. It was easy since we hadn't put anything out. After setting up some stuff, we decided to go to the beach. Wow. Pictures don't do it justice. Topsail has 2 lakes near the beach. Both have flooded over the banks, taken out dunes, and formed rivers to the ocean. One of the rivers has dried up, but the other is still flowing.
  5. We spent the first night in site 69. Not a bad site but little privacy. It's close to the outdoor theater, lake, and store. All the rain has really damaged the roads. Road river
  6. Welcome all! I can't multi reply on my phone, so this is what you get. Our drive down was OK. We hit traffic in Atlanta. Imagine that. We saw a rainbow. We ate on Sonic's. Yum! Tater tot pood forn. We arrived at Topsail at 9:30. It was raining.
  7. This might be a TR, or it might be a hybrid with some pictures. I wasn't going to do a full report, but you guys have to see this. And I have some cute pics and pood forn. It will likely all be done from my phone, so if you want quality, look elsewhere. I'm sure you've heard about the panhandle getting some rain. It looks like a different place. Thankfully, it's in the process of drying out. For now at least. This trip is also weird because we're going to stay in 3 sites. Yep, 3. Originally we had 1 site for 14 nights. Then we found out about a wedding that would result in us leaving early.
  8. Captain Cook's doesn't have noodle bowls or Dole Whips?!?! What's the point of it being open then?
  9. A lot of times it's due to tire pressure. You need to check it every trip.
  10. She's really seeing a lot! You are definitely getting your money's worth.
  11. That stinks. Glad you made it though. Some tire shops carry the higher rated tires. How long are you there? Maybe one can order it for you if it's not in stock.
  12. Have you heard or tried this tip... Once you book the 4th and subsequent FP+ at a kiosk, you can change them on your phone. So one strategy for the 4th is to pick whatever you think will have the soonest return time, so you can use it to search for others.
  13. You sound just like me a few years ago. We started with a TT and then sold it after a few years and got a Class C. Things I liked about our TT: We had a real gas oven instead of a convection combo. We had bunks. Big pantry It was cheaper. Things I like about our Class C: Lots of room and sleeping places (bunks in addition to the bed over the cab) I can go to the bathroom and get snacks without stopping (even though I limit movement) Set up is easier We put Z's car seat at the dinette with the table down because... 1) Car seats are supposed to face to the front or rear, not the side.
  14. More great pictures. Twin #1 will get to use a lot of her creative skills when she runs Disney, right? I want to go to Ireland!!!! So pretty!
