  1. “Mama, look there’s the first Fort Wilderness sign.” The kids are excited! Woooohoooo! Anyone keeping track? We play musical chairs with the car seats. Mama’s favorite monorail. We all have a favorite color or wrap monorail. BuckeyeFortMama loves the light green. Magic Kingdom. I wish I could bottle the anticipation we have when we come through here and save it for later. Here's a picture of the deer welcoming committee. This picture never gets old. My favorite sign ever. Hey, is it Spring Break? Reception Outpost Anarchy reigns in our truck when we pul
  2. We crawled back into the truck at 6:45 and it was 29 degrees. This spring break was starting out COLD! It was nice to finally see some signs of SPRING on our SPRING break as we traveled this morning. Breakfast at the Waffle house. I love this one. By 11:30 we are leaving South Carolina (they have such a nice sign to tell us that). What are the BuckeyeFortKids up to? Catching up on sleep of course. Lo and Behold we are finally seeing some Ohio spring temps in GEORGIA! It was noon before we saw 50 degrees for the first time the whole trip. THIS IS NOT NORMAL
  3. It's coming very shortly. I'm glad you are. My husband made me post the pictures because he knew someone would appreciate it. It is our pride and joy right now and makes camper storage and prep so much easier. Thanks Gwen, I love it. This is our first full camping season with the barn. We got home and I just left the frig stocked and plugged in. All we need to do is throw clothes in and remake the beds and we can take off again! Hiram is a good looking boxer and he gets away with murder because of it!
  4. Glad to have you along for the ride. It has a been a weird weather year all around. The weather alone on this trip will make it unforgettable (more to come on that). I know! We so should of. Next time we won't forget! Hey Aaron! I'm trying to read yours and write mine at the same time. It was, we have such great little travelers. It's a long drive that is now so very familiar to us. Crazy. Oh my goodness that would be a shock. I kept thinking we were just dragging the Ohio weather with us.
  5. It is time for another BuckeyeFortFamily trip report. It was a another great trip, and a little longer than most so please read on and enjoy! Thursday March 21, 2013 Here we are, nearly the end of March and it’s still freezing in Ohio. I spent Thursday packing clothes baskets which I use to transport 6 bodies worth of clothes and food to the camper in the barn. I usually walk the baskets to the camper but this snow still in our flower beds was too discouraging. So I cheated and put them in the back of my Expedition and drove them to the barn where we store the fifth wheel. He
  6. I'm finally in!!! So, sorry I'm late. We got home from the fort and 2 nights later left for a conference, so I've been dealing with life after 3 weeks away from home. No need to worry! All those trip reports are just research for Grandpa time!
  7. I'm jealous of that Mickey waffle iron. Where did you get it?
  8. Michigan roads don't suck, they blow. I'm sorry, I just couldn't help it. PS I'm in. I've been looking forward to this report and would have been here sooner if it weren't for the driver errors.
  9. The same argument could be used for a lot of things that upset us. For example "they are just a few barges with some lights and music, not worth getting all upset over"
  10. Get looking! The granola bars are great. I've been looking forward to the power balls.
  11. One of our favorites too. The food is amazing and the kids love the artist dessert (white chocolate Mickey puzzle they put together and then use a brush to paint it with different colored glazes).
  12. I'm so sorry this happened to you! It really SMB! How long did you wait before you figured it out?
  13. Oh no! The only time we've seen no boats was this trip the afternoon the tornado blew in because the wind was so bad.
  14. We traded our 3 year old TT last year for our current 5th wheel at an RV show and they gave us nearly what we paid for it brand new.
  15. If you are doing parks, Chip and Dale are available by the hat in DHS in the morning and in Frontierland in the MK. I would get as much use out of those skirts as you can.
  16. When they first introduced Tink as a meet and greet, they did a great job of actually shrinking you. The group that was to meet them next went into a room together behind a closed door where they shrunk everyone together at the same time and then you went into Pixie Hollow the size of a fairy. The old meet and greet was at the Toon Town Fair building and when you walked back around out the long winding hallway you were told that you would slowly grow back to your normal size so that by the time you entered the gift shop everyone in your party would be normal again. Now no one says anythi
  17. Can't wait to hear about the GG. If we hadn't already booked our Easter break at the Fort we thought about joining you all at Gettysburg.
  18. I got behind reading your report with our own trip. Great job Aaron! I am still a fan (despite my harsh anti-Michigan words on the other thread). Looking forward to your Gettysburg TR as we could have easily been at that GG instead of the Fort for Easter. So I wonder what it would be like and am trusting you to bring me up to speed on that one!
  19. Oh my goodness Kelly, never go back in!!!! We tried this going back in thing this trip and has been horrible. There are too many people and walking between attractions is nearly impossible with a stroller and little ones. We do it all before we leave and by do it all, I mean DO IT ALL! Take no prisoners. I should say we do avoid some of the "time sucks" like meeting characters. Like Lou said a 45 minute wait for a 2 minute picture if you're one of the lucky ones that they talk to just isn't worth it. If it's a short wait we 'might' do it. Can't wait to trade notes this weekend. I am so
  20. It probaly did close but with proper planning and a well executed plan you can feel as though the park wasn't that bad, but what am I saying you already know this.
  21. I loved the poachers story. The African accents over the radio helped give the whole ride a real safari feel even if there was a fake elephant. All the other rides have this type of forced storyline. Why not keep it? I was so happy they at least kept the Swahili song.
