10th Wedding Anniversary...
wak648...Bill replied to ~Kristina~'s topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I would suggest the wine country of the NY finger lakes. My DW and I love it up there. Lots to do with a farmers market and the mutiple wineries. I would even suggest a nice twilight dinner cruise on lake Seneca lake. -
10th Wedding Anniversary...

How far are you wanting to travel? New York finger lakes is a very pretty and quiet are with mutliple wineries. then you have the Poconos, Lancaster has a very nice renaissance faire that time of year. It all depends on how far you want to travel. If you asked my wife, her answer would be ten years. -

Day two: Woke up to pouring rain and do I mean rain! After breakfast in the camper, the rain let up and then stopped :D. we finished setting up and Pam and our clan ventured out for a walk to explore the CG, and it is a really nice place. Large play area with a pirate ship for the kids, nice basketball court, tennis court, shuffle board, miniature golf, arcarde, and a pool. When we got up to the snack bar, the CG manager Chris was behind the grill cooking breakfast for the guest. I asked him since they closed the site that was behind dblr and between rdancemom and ours, if he minded if w

After the news about our original CG being flooded out last weekend, we all scrambled to make new plans. Some of us decided against camping with more rain predicted for this weekend, others decided to stay closer to home where it was going to be sunny and warm (what fun is that?). Then there are the few brave (some may say foolish) ones who said hell with it were still going to Gettysburg rain or shine! If you have not already figured it out by the name of this trip report, it is raining with over an inch predicted for tonight alone. One the way into Granite Hills Campground, we drove by th

WOOOOO HOOOOO WERE GOING TO THE FORT!!!!!
wak648...Bill replied to campingpixi's topic in Disney Trips
Sorry. gonna miss you by 6 months. Not going until Christmas. -
while I do not know what your towing experience is I can tell you that you will not tow any Montana with a sub-compact truck, My 5th wheel is a medium weight at 15,500 loaded and nothing less than a F250 diesel is going to move it. most Montana's go well over 10,000 and should not be towed with anything less than a 3/4 ton. I agree. Read the second part of the first sentence and watch the video and you may realize I was trying to be funny.

Priced out of the fort !!!!
wak648...Bill replied to JARRSHEL's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Yes the Fort is expensive, but it is still a cost effective vacation for us. Being a family of 5 and living 1200 miles away, it is still cheaper for us to pull our TT and camp at the fort in a premium site than it is to fly and get the cheapest family suite or moderate resort with a room big enough for a roll away. -

No offense taken. I always complain about the buses too, but my complaint is that there are too many buses there. Too many times, I can't get in there to drop off and pickup because some idiot internal driver is just sitting there holding up the buses behind him. As for your complaint, save your breath, nothing is going to change. You'll have to accept things as they are or do as I do, DON'T USE THE BUSES if you have a vehicle. The only reason I ride the busses any more is in hopes of catching a glimpse of the mythical Lou, buss driver extrordinair. I ussualy drive every where with the excep -
Lets hope 1 week is not too long in a small camper.

And she does not even like him :D But if you are worried about space, just use some of Bruce's space saving methods and cut the sleeves off of your shirts. -
We have 3 kids and use my chevy crew cab and they all fit comfortably with 1 in a car seat, 1 in a booster, and 1 just in the seatbelt (old enought and big enough). We have not had a really long trip yet, longest was 5 hours in it and they tolerated it well.; We look at it as we are gonna have to stop every couple of hours for bathroom breaks and let the kids run and stretch their legs for a few minutes. Our new TT is 30' with a GWV of 7500 and I get about 11 mpg towing the moutains of NEPA.

What defines YOUR site?
wak648...Bill replied to devores's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Just don't wear the cheap ones, they tend to bind more than the higher-end thongs! >:D Doesn't matter what I wear, with an ass as big as mine, they all bind up. -
