  1. Yep, hero is a good word for him. I believe as he does, "God put him in right place at right time."
  2. Wekiwa Springs State Park is fun. Get there early in the day as when the parking lot is full no more cars are allowed to enter. Swimming in the spring is fun on a hot day. Picnic areas, hiking trails, even camping. It's about an hour or more, depending on traffic, from the Fort. https://www.floridastateparks.org/park/Wekiwa-Springs
  3. Thanks for this info Nacole, it will be very helpful. Another point in it's favor, it is a Made in USA product!!
  4. Such good news and the book idea sounds great. Will love reading it as soon as available :D
  5. Just reading this thread now. So thankful that Spot was found and from the sounds of it, will soon be home. So scary to loose a loved pet, especially at the age of 17. He is a beautiful cat, glad he is enjoying his extended vacation at AK.
  6. I think WDW starts charging admission when a child hits the 3 year old mark.
  7. Kelly said: "This is actually a good idea. If they were simple bikes, it would be OK for awhile, probably. And nerds like Mr. GaDawgFan could tune it up when present. Of course, they'd have to be purple." I really like the idea of Good Will or Wall-Mart. And buy a can of purple spray paint and 'fix' those bikes. Would be easier for FFers to spot.
  8. I was told by a cast member who works there that a traffic signal was needed to help cast members safely and quickly move on or off property. Yes the present road is too close to the curve to safely put a light there, so the buildings will be torn down and the intersection relocated. I don't see this as a North Entrance either, where would cast parking go?
  9. Anyone else think they are rude to charge for extra pots of tea? At those prices it should be unlimited pots.
  10. Cypress trees like wet feet, so if you notice them on a site and it's the rainy season..........well, watch out.
  11. I've been watching the Eye being built and will pay for at least one ride on it. But if the cost is too high that ride will be my only one. It looks like fun!
  12. I'm surprised the fiends have not already made this trip and made it an annual GG
  13. Me too and the Beeline is still the Bee-line, the Greenway is not a number and the same goes for the East-West.
  14. We had family in town and they treated me to Cirque Du Soleil - yay me! We parked in the lot behind the Cirque building. Lots of room, it was a Wednesday and not very crowded, even empty seats in La Nouba. I went home the back way but they were staying at Vistana on Rt. 535. They told me they had no problem getting out of the lot but as they went past the parking garage they felt sorry for the poor souls trying to get out of there. The time was about 11-11:30pm. I haven't tried to park in the monster in the parking lot yet and as long as I can walk I probably won't. If you do use t
  15. Something that amazes me is the time some of you are able to devote to FortFiends. I'll never catch up with all that is written.
  16. Gretchen needs to do the same thing Mo. I want to be in the living room and start the fire in the fireplace, seldom do we have weather to justify a nice wood fire and tonight is a good rainy cool one. BUT here I sit with the Quest spot tracker page on one screen and the other jumping between fortfiends, the dog sled forum, and even facebook tonight. And I was just heading to LR when I thought, let me check FF. LOL
  17. and that would be a person like me. So many times during the year my life pulls me in other directions, like this time of year with the Yukon Quest running and the Iditarod about to start March 8. And then of course the Cornell bird cams. ( Did you know they have a cam on a great horned owl nest in Georgia with 2 chicks and another on an Albatross nest in Hawaii ?) But whenever I'm able to come back here you greet me and I feel welcomed once again. BTW in only 4 days Mo has over 100 new posts!!!! You go girl!
  18. DH says 1 night's worth on a credit card. So answer is yes. and :grpwelcome:
  19. Our hybrid has almost no storage and the tub/shower is too small for the size of DH and me. So I bought small plastic sets of drawers and use them in the shower area, it's now known as the closet. Just pack the drawers in the house and put in place in the former tub. No suitcases taking up space. Most places we camp have OK to good showers. So don't mind using their CS. I would not be adverse to using our outside shower if necessary. But I love the indoor toilet, so don't need to run to CS in middle of night.
  20. From 535 it still looks like a hulking monster IMO
