  1. One thing I love about being at a beach after a hurricane is the shells that are there to be found. If the little creature who lived in the shell is alive I toss it back, but if it's dead I bring the shells home and lay them near a fire ant hole. They are soon cleaned out and no smell left.
  2. Haven't gone outside yet today, but yesterday was cooler only in the high 80s. But we had lots of cloud cover, off and on rain and a good breeze....................... Took Lucky for a walk, it's pleasant out there today. :) A lot of times after a hurricane blows past it's so sticky hot it's miserable. It is humid, but in the mid 70s (at the moment) that will change as the sun rises.
  3. OH NO Gwen! I clicked the wrong square I'm so sorry. That was suppose to be an up arrow.
  4. Favorite cat of all my life, Shenandoah, can still bring tears. He died in 1979. What a friend he was. Danielle is a close very second.
  5. Here is an address for a couple of cams from a tree where Great Horned Owls nested in the Savanah area. A branch broke off and the second camera is swaying in the wind. There are two cams, from cam 1, you can see the broken branch with the 2nd cam on it swinging in the breeze. From cam 2 you could get sea sick. http://cams.allaboutbirds.org/channel/46/Great_Horned_Owls/
  6. Another fab TR as usual! Missed enjoying it as you posted but finally got it all read. So many comments came to me as I read, but of course are now gone, except for a few. Black shirts in heat...nononono! Learned that the hard way when taking part in a charity event in Orlando around Lake Eola one hot summer day. We were given black tee shirts to wear. My DH was able to ditch his but not me. Never wear dark colors in the heat again. Have not been on a Disney cruise yet, but sure hope to remember to read through the TRs for good advice when we do go. Have you ever aske
  7. We were on a 3 week camping trip to VA and PA while you enjoyed the Florida temps. All the relatives in VA and PA complained about how hot it was this summer. It felt like a normal FL summer to me, then we came home to find it was hotter and dryer than usual this year. Not sorry to have missed them. It was our last trip in the hybrid, now we are glampers too though I try to stay outside as much as possible. Good for you guys camping without the AC in the pup. The grandgirls will have such memories about camping with you. What a nice thing to give them. Sorry you will not be ca
  8. WCW loving your report, full of good info and humor in spite of these beastly Florida temps. I hope you do get to Busch Gardens next time, good rides and the meal travisma told about sure sounds good. I too don't eat enough to justify the price of the brunch/breakfast at Trails End either.
  9. Aw Ellie, so hard to say goodbye and so many things will remind your people of you. Run free beautiful girl.
  10. Slowly catching up on trip reports. This is a good one! Loved that you got to ride your favorites so many times. I've ridden Mine Train once after a very long wait in line. Weird about leaning on the gates would stop the train. Shouldn't that have been found out much earlier? Unless it's a new control. Your kids are cute.
  11. Used it on the hybrid and think we stopped the leaks. Good stuff. I want to get up on my mobile home roof, or better yet let the godson get up there, and fix the leaks. I see no reason the Eternabond wouldn't work on my roof. Have a metal roof and think the leaky part is by the chimney, at least one of the leaks is.
  12. It will be hard Gwen, but I'm hoping it brings lots of good memories of the fun times you had with Kassie. And I'm looking forward to seeing you again. Have a safe trip down.
  13. She was a very good pup. Lacey came into my life when she was 6-8 weeks old. I worked for the lady who bought her as a groomer to her many pets. The very first time Lacey was groomed was when I fell in love with her. Such a good little puppy, even for the toenails. Every time I went to the house Lacey would be jumping and barking behind the puppy fence. I asked if she did that all the time and was told "No, only when you come." so I think the love was mutual. When the owner had to go to a nursing home I said I'd take Lacey, and was told you have to take Lucky too. Lace
