Can't believe I missed this TR until now -- just read through it and thought of a bunch of things to remark on...and now I'm at the end and forgot most of them. My old brain. LOVED the photo of Anna gazing up at you -- that's amazingly adorable. And the planking vid? HILARIOUS. Absolutely love the Japanese over-dub; cracked me up completely. Glad to be "on board" for the rest of this TR. Really enjoying it so far!

I'm betting hair clip. Need to know now!!! Looks like you had a really fun summer, too. From OBX to Niagara Falls? That's quite a lot of area you covered this summer!

Oh, nuts! Stinks they close so early. Our other fave, Crosswinds, I think is closed/closing this year, too (think they alternate closed winters). We almost always hit Bullocksville in May, though -- I'll give a shout on this thread and maybe we can coordinate weekends then? Hope you have a great time -- and prepping for the Fort, too? Lucky you!!

I wish! Hope you have fun! Anyone know when they close for the season? I'd love to squeeze in one last trip before they do, but my brother's getting married this month and that chops down my available weekends.

Such a purty campground. So glad you could sneak away for a quick trip! We've been back from TX for maybe 1-1/2 weeks and I'm already itching to get out again. Might need to take your lead and just do a quick local one!

I *almost* chickened out after hubby got me a little spooked about my truck surviving the trip, but I had my insurance card and my phone, so I figured even if the truck got a boo-boo I could handle it. Also, I was raised with a healthy sense of paranoia, so I'm confident about handling any "bad guy" situation (plus my teen sons are practically my body guards at this point), so I figured we should just do it! That about sums any trip, doesn't it? A mix of hoorays with a couple bummers. And my son was VERY happy for that donut! My other son got the glazed giant donut (no chocolate). We were like, what, are you crazy? Get the chocolate, man! It really was fun. For minimal planning, it turned out pretty good. Two weeks ago, I was driving to the grocery store with my two sons (14 and 12) and conversation somehow turned to Austin, Texas. By the time we’d pulled into the parking lot, we’d somehow decided to take a road trip there (we live in NC). Glad to see this thread -- I've wondered about one of these for a long time. We have those Mickey ear fake ice cube things but although they're adorable they really don't chill any drink AT ALL. We usually cram a bag of ice in the freezer but it's a pain. Good to hear everyone likes these!
