  1. Heading home from Richmond VA on 95 after the 4th of July (2019). Spent the night in Fayettville and headed south. The coach started to run rough and we pulled off at a rest stop. Was having trouble getting up to highway speeds and wouldn't hold. Kept downshifting on even minor grades. Limped from rest area to rest area. Called about a tow, $1,600 to the closest diesel shop (Bulldog towing). They couldn't get to us until the next day but were kind enough to give us the name of a shop in Savannah, GA. I called and they said if I could get it there they would be glad to look at it. We limped in
  2. Hi Gwen, I really apologize, I just saw this post almost 6 months after you put it up! I figured out your handle as soon as I saw it. I have one picture in the "About me" section. I have a bunch but they don't allow pictures that big. If you're still interested let me know and I can text some or email them. I'd like to see your rig as well! Ok, that worked. only small picture I have.
  3. This has been over a year now and assuming that everything is still working to your wife's satisfaction. I'll throw a comment in here in case someone with the same question(s) reads through. We have a 10 gal residential electric water heater that is enough for my wife and I to take regular showers and not run out. I also have a Hydro Hot system that provides on demand hot water but runs off of a diesel burner. That works great too. Water stays very hot as long as there's water in the campground and diesel in the tank. I just like to use the park electricity for heating water as long as I'
  4. Went Dec. 13th through the 18th. We were in site #834, our friends were in #835 right next door. It was a nice site and we carted around the loops to check out the Christmas decorations. Nice time, the weather actually got pretty cool when the sun went down. We had a 4 day park hopper which we only used three days on. That's the last time we'll go that close to Christmas as the parks are just too crowded for our taste. We did the hotel lobbies to check out their decorations and found the Wilderness lodge to have the coolest tree and decorations. Going to run over there again Wed. May 1st throu
  5. We are traveling with some friends and when we made the reservations it was for two premium sites together. We were told that it would be no problem by our agent. Anybody have an opinion on the likelihood of getting those two sites together in the 500 loop? Another friend recommended it as being the best as far as big rig friendly.
  6. Ok, gotchya! I don't have any trees. In fact, when we landscaped my wife specifically said she wanted NOTHING that you would see in Maryland. There is a couple of oaks down at the edge of the lake but no leaves in our yard.
  7. I have no leaves now cause I'm in Florida! But we had almost an acre. We started raking about mid October and normally finished in January. That was until we had a real windy day and the neighbor's leaves came into our yard and it started again!
  8. Ha! I kinda had my own epiphany on Disney after going about 30 times in 20 years. Haven't been since 2011. We're going this year so my wife can see the Christmas decorations. Kind of a 30th anniversary and a gift for her birthday. Don't know when the next time will be... if ever. Funniest part is we only live about 30 minutes from the gate. I haven't yelled at the computer since quitting Facebook!
  9. Actually have lived all over, but the last 17 years in Sykesville/Eldersburg. We are now full time Florida residents. Yayyy! No more snow, cold or raking leaves! Did I say no more snow? Ha!
  10. You must know then how much I hate 95 south in northern VA to put up with it. Came close to clacking mirrors more than once with semi's.
  11. Saying Hello to a fellow (miss) CC owner! Magna here.

  12. Thanks! Dumped Facebook a couple of months ago and need to read through some posts for info.
  13. Before we permanently relocated to Florida we made a yearly trek from Maryland to Florida. First, we stayed in hotels on our southern drive as we always stayed at a Disney on property resort. More truth in advertising, I haven't stayed at the Fort since 1976. Now that that's out of the way I'll combine the two. We've made more than a few southern trips from Maryland to Florida in our RV. Mostly to Naples and Tallahassee but the breakaway has either been 10 across or I-4 out of Jacksonville. Soooo... the southern route. We take 95 south to Rt 301 and cross the Harry Nice bridge to King George V
  14. Just read through this post and wondered what the OP eventually did. Did they buy the Class C, Class A, upgrade the TT? These are always interesting reads as there are as many answers as there are forum members. Hope they enjoyed their new RV whatever it was!
