Thanks for the tip! I'm sure we will do another wash during our two week stay using the hose on site. Our trailer is only 15ft so we should be good at the drive through mentioned above. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Thank you! I googled it and it's close and just what I was looking for!

Hey. I'm coming to the Fort in January from Canada. We will desperately need to wash the salt from our trailer. Anyone recommend a good pull through washing place in Orlando area?
Thanks in advance.

Hey. Can anyone provide a brief summary on how long one can expect it would take to travel to each of the four parks via the transportation system from Fort Wilderness? Boat to MK? Bus to the others? Monorail ever?
Thinking of when I need to wake up and be ready to catch a bus to arrive for park opening at each park (January, therefore mostly 9am openings).
Thanks in advance!!

Has anyone done this? How long does it take to eat at 9:30am? To me, that's prime riding time!

There aren't always a ton of RV spots and we've pulled into some that didn't have any (although those may have been Pilots).
We usually do truck stops for a nap on the way down/back and downloaded the app. It tells you how many parking spots each location has. We usually shoot for the ones with more spots to up the odds we'll find a space, especially since we pull in late at night.
We've parked in the truck area when we couldn't find an RV spot. It's noisy as the trucks are running all night, but generally it just lulls me to sleep. Of course I've probably been driving 12-14 hours by then too. [emoji6]
What app is that?

Thanks. I had a friend stay in a hotel close to Chattanooga and during the night someone slashed their fabric roof top carrier and stole all their luggage

Hi everyone,
My young family will be travelling southbound from Ontario Canada (Detroit border) to the Fort in January 2017. We have a 15ft Trillium trailer and don't need full hookup. Looking for safe campgrounds along I-75. Our first night we are looking around Tennessee area as we want to get out of the snow!
In Canada we stick to Provincial Parks. Are State Parks and KOAs generally rated as safest vs family owned parks?
I had thought about stopping at Walmart's/rest stops along the way, as they are free and we are just stopping to sleep. But my hubby is concerned about our bicycles and gear in the back of the truck being vulnerable.
Any tips are welcome! Thanks

Thank you! That eases my concerns a lot!

After parades and fireworks when there are large masses of people leaving the park... What are your tips/strategies? Is it even as bad as I read? Would you walk to Contemporary to get the ferry back to the Fort? Or not necessary?

we stayed there for 3 nights last December. Very close to the beach (across a parking lot!). Sites weren't very private but to be that close to beach, they were great. Bathrooms and showers were clean. They have community fire pits.
We also did the space centre. Arrive when it opens, it takes a full day to see everything! I didn't know it was that big. Bring a packed lunch. Two hot dogs and drinks cost us $20!
Not sure if you have kids, but the campground has a huge new playground. And my son loved watching the large cruise ships enter and exit port.
I would return to this campground again!
