  1. I agree, the wife & I run a rv rally for Forest River there plus my wife won't let us miss the Covered Bridge Festival in October.....at least not yet.
  2. Just wanted to share a news segment sent to us by a friend, it is about a small amusement park in Pa that if you are ever in the area a stop there will be worth your time. It is a old family run park that caters to the family atmosphere. Camping is also available one campground next to the park with just electric, fill water on arrival dump when leaving and another campground near by with full hook ups and a shuttle if needed. https://wnep.com/2019/05/15/catching-up-with-dick-knoebel/
  3. Ok, hope the drive goes well, from the Philly area ( which you will be in NJ ) all the way thru our area in De. it can get very hectic on a Friday, do you have EZ Pass, if so when in De. and after the service plaza stay clear of the right hand lane as it will back up for the last 2 exits before the toll, sometimes I have seen it all the way back to the plaza which is a couple of miles. Also don't forget no propane thru the tunnels in Baltimore take 695 east for the Scott Key Bridge then just follow back to 95
  4. When do you head south on 95 and are you planning any stops???? We are just minutes off 95 around the De. Md. line
  5. You are so right on when you travel alone, I did a 14.5 hour day 950 miles from De. to Warrenton Mo. one year by myself now when the wife is with me it is different. As a family we can do Disney to home in a day but we need to leave in the early morning to make it work then we are home usually by 8-9 that night with me as the only driver
  6. Kudos to you for a VERY BUSY last day you sure packed it in and double kudos ( if there is such a thing ) for that heck of a drive you did the first day I salute you!!!!!!!!!
  7. Nacole by the time you get to Elkhart to pick up your unit we will be on our way home by then, our leave date from there is August 18th, if times change and they get done earlier reach out and let me know. Hope all goes well with your repairs.
  8. Sounds like someone will get a very good used trailer down the road, are you trading it in or selling outright? When we traded our Cedar Creek 5th wheel in on our River Stone Legacy they sold it in less then 3 days and the new owners even tracked my wife down on Facebook to thanks us for taking such great care of their new to them camper.
  9. Grumpy, you are so right about how Jayco and StarCraft were one of the better built units but at last years Hershey show we were looking at their Pinnacle line and were very disappointed in what we saw, now everything looked very nice but we felt the wall that would sway back and forth to the bathroom kind of made us nervous, friends are looking for a full time 5th wheel so that's what drew us to them. Also you are correct in the lack of quality workers in the whole sector which reflects the quality coming out of the whole industry. Glad to hear you had great luck in all of your units we had a
  10. There is a campground next door or just down the road but I don't think they are associated with Dolly Wood
  11. That's good news, it's been around4 years since we have been there and it is a nice park, some trips the clientele was not the best and other times things were just fine, of course we always planned to be there when they open and out before dark. We also stay in New Stanton so we also figured in the drive back n forth.
  12. A lot of people say take the money that you would pay for the extended warranty and put it away for the repairs later, plus less of a fight trying to get them to cover the repair.
  13. Disney used to offer a baby sitting service for the campsite one requirement we did not have was a phone# to be reached, of course this was before cell phones. Not sure they still offer this service or not.
  14. Congrats and best of luck with it. Regarding Open Range being bought by Jayco did you know Jayco was bought by Thor which of course also owns Keystone. Really it come down to 2 major corporations owning most of the rv factories Forest River or Thor, Rev corp. makes some motorhomes then some smaller companies that are trying to survive. Camper looks very roomy and can't wait to see the bar!!!!!
  15. If you like coaters built into the terrain try to visit Kennywood in Pittsburgh I believe three of their coasters are like that.
  16. You are correct about 295 running parallel to the turnpike, you will encounter a lot more on & off ramp traffic on 295 and if there is construction anywhere it will create a little pucker factor and of course more traffic. You will save on tolls that way so either way could be a toss up on what to choose. Be careful and have fun.
  17. Just make sure you check it out real good, if I remember right Nacole has a Keystone unit and is having problems with it, maybe she will jump in and offer info. Not sure which Keystone line she has but just giving a heads up. Good luck and hope you like it.
  18. Seeing this topic has come around again our builder decided to upgrade our water heater last August while at a rally, we had a Girard tankless but they started to install the Truma so thus the upgrade, let me say it is a great upgrade and so thankful for them doing this. If anyone is thinking of upgrading to the Truma I say go for it.
  19. I think the Poly and the Contemporary are the smallest parking lots at WDW so on busy times they restrict parking, we once did the Steam Tour and were told to park at the Contemporary and walk to the MK, I guess that early in the morning they make exceptions plus we could park there all day because of the tour.
  20. If you can get the Hensley at a good price I would jump on it plus remember you can keep moving it to your next trailer so you always have it. If I was to go back to a TT I would get one as it is probably the best you can get, I am not sure but I think they even offer a service to recondition older ones but would check on that.
  21. We have eaten at Splitsvile a couple of times and were always pleased with the food, plus on busy times you can always seem to get a table, we went there last time between Christmas and New Years
  22. How about Splitsville and get a good table to people watch, if nice a outside one but if it's hot one upstairs next to the window.
  23. Just as long as he does not want the Hensley, great hitch but could cost as much as a used camper
