We took the little boat to the contemporary and walked to MK, couldn't believe how easy it was and it was such a quiet & beautiful morning!

We are here and tucked in for the night. I have to say a huge thank you to everyone that responds to these threads. Your knowledge of the the Fort and everything is really appreciated! We are camped where we requested to be, in the 1400 loop. Our site is really great, nice and private! We were really nervous that we would even get on the loop we requested, since every time my mil called they told her something different and couldn't confirm anything- pretty ridiculous! BUT we are here and are excited for a great week of Disney fun! :dance:

We have breakfast tomorrow morning at the Royal table in Magic Kingdom at 8:30am. Is the easiest way to get there to take the boat to the Contemporary and walk to MK? Or should we get a ride there (we do have someone that could drop us off there)? Trying to figure out the easiest way. I know that boat starts at 6:45 am, but in what time increments? Thanks in advance for the help!

Stops on the way down were great, got to eat and camp at a bunch of random places. The only downside was/is the chiggers! Holy smokes! We geocached in Ohio and it turned ugly- bumpy rash bites all over, luckily not the kids or grandparents, just me and hubby.

We are about 2 hours from the Fort- we've been on the road since Sunday, so we are definitely ready to be there! My silly question is this: do we need to have our magic bands with us when we check in/register at the Fort?

We've never been to the Fort before, so knowing how large the campground is, is tricky. I've looked at maps and done some Google map searches and stuff. We had a golf cart reserved for our week stay, but my inlaws cancelled it the other day thinking we will be ok walking or biking everywhere. I'm really just looking for reassurance that we will be ok without it. We have a request in to be in the 1400 loop. We are relatively active people, so hiking or biking isn't an issue, I just don't want our kids to be totally fried. Are there trails or do people usually use main roads for walking/

If you are looking to travel north, Peninslua State Park in Wisconsin is fantastic! Located right on the bay and very near Lake Michigan. Pretty much everything you are looking for in a smallish area. The area around the park is really really nice. Within an hour or so drive there are a few great parks worth the drive. Whitefish Dunes and Cave Point. The whole area is worth spending a few days traveling around! We also traveled with our kids last summer to South Dakota and camped just outside of Custer, at Horse Thief Campground and resort. Definitely a campground and not a resort,

It's a trip choice. We are trying to plan it so that we have a different route for the way back home. We have enough time to stop every day and see some cool stuff, so hopefully that route works out for us. It really is kind of a shot in the dark.

Great, thank you!! That was the one my mother in law was worried about the most. She really wanted us to stay at KOA's and places she had heard of before.

Hey everyone! My family (Hubs, myself, 8yr old, 11 yr old, mother in law, father in law) will be traveling to Fort Wilderness this June with our pop-up camper. We have points plotted along a rough route with campsites reserved. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions about cool stops along the way? Also, if any of my campground reservations are those you've stayed at in the past and you have any recommendations (ie: don't stay there, they eat their young), please feel free to pass them on to me. First night we are staying at Long's Retreat and Family Resort Night 2 we are staying
