FW Rendezvous

Thanks TCD, He's (and Mom & myself) very excited to be a part of the Gator Nation. He has lots of friends already attending there, and several more arriving in the Fall. Some of his friends who live off-campus depend heavily on the bus app just as you mentioned, and from what I've heard, the buses are nice and frosty inside. Interesting, we had just learned of this mobile app feature when we were visiting the University of Florida last month during our son's Summer B preview. What an awesome way of keeping track of the buses whereabouts when you might be running short of time between classes.

Ha, I have to laugh at myself. When I first read the thread topic, I honestly envisioned "Bus Monitors" riding the bus, standing by the door in the aisle checking for freeloaders with coolers headed to the pool! :popo:

I'm so sorry for coming into this so late, but dam! This trip report is the one I've been destined to discover, I just sort of accidentally clicked on "click HERE to read it", and dam! I think I realize now, why the river looks so appealing, besides the obvious "paradise" look. I don't see a single soul in the shots. We don't really do water parks since the boys were little, but I do remember them being so congested with tubers that it's a little difficult to relax. Dave, this TR is awesome. The resort, food, drinks, River, hammock looks absolutely amazing. It's hard to imagine that places like this are just down the road from us and we never stay at them. Congratulations on 20 years, may God bless your marriage for many, many more!

"First, I have been racking my brain trying to remember this scene. Help!" Ahh, the scene is when Robin Williams is attempting to hook up his sewer line for the very first time on the rented RV. The 2 guys helping him show him how to connect the 2 sections of hose using a "Y" coupling. As he holds the "Y" coupling up high, the sewage begins to crest right in front of his face; "TURN IT OFFFF!" Hahaha

First trip report "sign-in" for this guy! I love where all this is going, and I could almost picture Robin Williams shouting "TURN IT OFF!!"

Carol, Do you ever see yourselves upgrading size-wise from your T@B in the future?

We were last at the MK in December of 2012, and had lunch at the Tortuga Tavern for the very first time ever. They had a really nice fruity Sangria that DW & I just had to get 2nds. Then we were ambushed by a very fidgety Peter Pan as we sat at our table.

I do like the idea of a regular bed and decent size bathroom, and I know DW would as well. Our TV is an 05 Nissan Armada, so it will handle about 9,000 lbs I believe. I just don't really want to be hauling anything over 20 feet long. In the future, I may replace the Armada with a Toyota Tacoma, so whatever the capacity they are, would be important. That's why I figured the R-pods would work. But there's definitely a lot of quality rigs out there in the same neighborhood.

I'm thinking queen bed for 2 adults and packing somewhat light. Guests can sleep outside.

Kieth, I just glanced at the Palomini, very nice except for like you mentioned, no slide and the tiny wet bath. I do like the width though. The R-pods are limited in width, with the side walls between the wheels. The newest R-pod floor plan, the RP-183G has a slide, a large bath AND the garage in the back, which I really like, just to create an outside kitchen/TV/liquid refreshment area without having to trapes in&out all the time. But the larger bath means they've eliminated the separate bed. I really wouldn't want to have to make the bed every night just for 2 of us. But until then, it's

Thanks Yall. The only con I can find so far is that they don't use a mechanical awning, it appears to be an optional tent attachment. I had looked at the T@B trailers as well (online), but I like that the R-pod has a bathroom, even if it's rather minimal. There is a brand new R-pod floor plan that features a large bathroom rather than the wet bath, THAT'd be nice.

Thanks. I believe they sell them just down the road at Lazy Days RV, but we don't dare go looking just yet! I'd really like to build a barn first, so we can store the toys out of the weather. Plus we have our youngest starting college this summer, (so maybe look in the fall)

DW and I were really interested in the small Airstream TTs, but have since been looking at the R-pods. I've been reading on the R-pod owners forum and browsing the floor plans & photos, etc.. I really like this compact, light weight trailer, especially the models with the garage. Have Any Fiends ever owned an R-pod, or had experiences? It seems that a lot of R-pod owners had recently graduated from popups.
