Same here, considering a Tropical Storm was formed out of that mess. We had tornados touch down just south of us on the East Coast. Cody

The Wilderness Must be Destroyed!

Well at lease these guests have a nice view for their Halloween and Christmas holidays. Cody -
This is true, and I've actually had the same thing at Bay Lake Tower pool as well. Cody

Local news, WFTV, reported a story that a firework from the Star Wars show went rogue. I haven't been able to watch the video as my wifi out here is spotty. Bulldozing River Country?
FunFinder265....Cody replied to Tri-Circle-D's topic in Disney and Fort Construction
I'll take the night shift. Sounds fun -
I saw a picture floating around earlier tonight of a can of OFF! brand spray next to that information card. I assume there is some kind of business/sponsorship deal going on, unless this was an over night decision and they went to the local Costco/BJs/SAMs and bought the inventory. We'll be there September 22nd, so I'll see if we get one. Cody

Enjoy it! -
Disney is now giving out Cutter mosquito spray to hotel guests at check in as part of their mosquito prevention program. They also have stations set up at Disney Springs and the parks for guests to give themselves a spray. I wonder if we will get the same treatment upon check in at The Fort? Bulldozing River Country?
FunFinder265....Cody replied to Tri-Circle-D's topic in Disney and Fort Construction
I agree 100%, my guess is this was just the cheapest and fastest way to remove that liability. What does it cost to have some truckloads of dirt and a crew to fill it versus a complete demolition where I assume you would still have to truck some fill into the site once everything was removed? This is a forgotten corner of property to the general public, so a quick and easy job was probably their goal. Get it done and move on. Cody -
Bulldozing River Country?
FunFinder265....Cody replied to Tri-Circle-D's topic in Disney and Fort Construction
Apparently the Disney quote in the Sentinel was correct that there were no immediate plans for further demolition. Cody -

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/tourism/os-disney-world-river-country-20160825-story.html From today's Orlando Sentinel. "Disney said it has no immediate plans to tear down any other remaining parts of the park, some of which can be seen from Bay Lake. Disney said the work had been planned for a while now." Cody -
1500 back up to 1600 loop
FunFinder265....Cody replied to McAlee Family's topic in Fort Wilderness Loops Information
Your best bet is to call Disney and get a TW (traveling with) number and link your reservation to their's. That will be the best and easiest way to ensure you guys will be together. They may even sprinkle some pixie dust and upgrade you guys to a Full Hook Up site for free to place you near your family.. -
Best Preferred Site
FunFinder265....Cody replied to Downeyr's topic in Fort Wilderness Loops Information
What TCD said. We were in 327 with a 26' TT in July 2015 and it was super tight. Your rig is considerably larger than mine. We actually stayed there before the new yellow lines were painted to "widen" the road and we were still cramped for space. If you can, I recommend upgrading to a premium site and requesting the 600 loop. The 600 loop is really the only loop that would allow good satellite exposure. -
Bike locks necessary?
FunFinder265....Cody replied to VFLnSFD's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I agree with the majority, I do feel my belongs are safe at The Fort, however I will lock up. If someone really wants something, they will get it from you whether it's locked or not, so I'm mainly just keeping the honest people honest and preventing the opportunistic thieves from running off with something of ours. -

Overflow lot
FunFinder265....Cody replied to Starbuc71's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
This seems to be the most logical explanation. And I like it. I wonder if I could start a one cart rental service and "advertise" it at The Fort, then write it off. Cody -
