I'm surprised they haven't learned how to market to the captive audience with food, beverage and merchandise sales to people standing in 3 hour lines.  Kind of like the grocery store checkout line, only instead of People magazines and gum, they could sell beer, churros, Mickey bars and Minnie Mouse sweatshirts.

They don't want you spending all of your money before you get to the ride exit gift shop. I mean one churro too many and you won't have enough for the  robotic Banshee toy.

  2. We ended up not going on it when we were there. By the time I got my FP notice it was already fully booked. The day we went to AK they had early extra magic hours and by the time we got to Flight of Passage around 8:15 the wait was already over 2.5 hours. An hour later it was up to 3.5 hours and seemed to stay around three hours most of the day. There is no way I will waste that much of our limited vacation time standing in a slow moving line. I am glad the ride is such a success but it would have been nice if they had built more seats. Hopefully Disney will learn something from this for Galaxy's Edge.

  3. I suspect Florida is like NC where drink dispensers come under public health laws and inspection. While it might not be illegal having drink dispensers at random locations where staff cannot keep an eye on them it would likely result in health code violations. I can also envision the mess where some kids get into the room where the dispensers are and get soda and ice all over the place thinking it is fun.

If that counter sold Mai Tais and Mickey bars I would camp out there for my entire vacation.

I would even train a service dog to fetch them for me. Of course it would have to be three years old (21 in dog years) to avoid any underage alcohol problems. I wonder if those service dog vests come with cup holders?

We saw that sign a few times in November and it took us a while to realize it that meant "hey they have bottles of stuff you can buy from a vending machine at that window over there."

It was probably there last week as well but heading for the boats I pay little attention to things like that as I could care less about buying a soft drink on my way to another resort or the MK.

For an extra $100 they take you down a different passageway so you can bypass the Moons of Endor

I won't quote the picture. One is enough. Congratulations you have successfully made me lose my appetite. I should have known better than to browse the forums before dinner.

    That won’t surprise me either.

I wonder if they will allow resort guest only in SW land and the rest of he park open to everyone else.   They have a big gate at SW land right now. And it would be easy for them to close the gate to non resort guests.

I noticed the entrance when we were there last week. I suspect they will close the gates and have an early close to that area of HS. It wouldn't surprise me if they magic band the people like they do for Extra Magic Hours to ensure they are from the resort.

Yes but realistically unless you're ok with lugging all your food and drink around all day, you're paying the premium for the convenience.  If I want pork rinds I'm not leaving the park to go buy a cheaper bag at Publix.  B)

If you were like me you would have over packed the food and already anticipated the potential for a pork rind craving.

I can see them putting the resort parking lot next to a “space terminal” and whisking the guests to the resort via a space shuttle.   The space shuttle will take you into the resort. And when you wanted to go to Star Wars land another space shuttle would take you there. So I imagine Star Wars land will have its own entrance just for  resort guests. And for guests who want to go visit another park or Disney springs, they would take the space shuttle back to the parking lot terminal,  for their return flight back to earth, and then use regular Disney transportation.

That’s just how I imagined it.

This what I was thinking as well. I envision a spaceport where the guests board a shuttle flight and are dropped off inside Star Wars Land.

  9. The rumored Epcot name change is trivial and fits with the addition of a new hotel if that part of the rumor is true as well. I also noticed on the HS name change Disney says "in the foreseeable future". I still think once they are done with the park upgrades they will change the name to something like Disney's Hollywood Adventure. If folks are really interested in name changes look at how many times has Disney Springs been renamed.

I'm curious about some things regarding this resort.  First, will people not staying there be able to resort hop to check it out?  I would like to think that answer is no, as a bunch of schmucks in jorts and flip flops would kind of spoil the immersive feel of being on Coruscant or Tatooine, or on a Star Destroyer.  Also, will the resort have a pool?  Again, this would seem to go against the theming, but perhaps it could be a really cool pool, with a hot tub resembling a bacta tank.

I don't see why it couldn't have a pool. I don't think the Star Wars canon disallows it so as long as Disney doesn't do anything against the canon they should be ok. After all Luke crash lands in a swamp on Dagobah so bodies of water do exist.

It almost sounds like a cruise. Everyone in on the same day, everyone out on the same day and no visitors. Think of what a hot mess that place would be if they allowed non guests in?

Good point. I've also thought about the new Star Wars Land and wouldn't be surprised if Disney has something like Extra Magic Hours with resort guest only access.

  11. Rene and I stopped in here for drinks and snacks one afternoon. This might become our new afternoon break hang out place. During the couple of hours we were there ordered the BBQ Brisket Dip  and Charcuterie. For the Brisket Dip we subbed waffle fries for the potato chips on the recommendation of the bartender. Both were good although I'll give higher marks to the shredded duck confit that came with the charcuterie. You still have to report to the podium for a table but the bar is walk up. While conversing with the bartender she said that it looks like there will be another lunch menu change and the addition of a dinner menu. She also said they considering reserved seating with the menu changes. I think this would be a bad decision. One of the things we liked about Geyser Point is it is a place where adults can casually hang out without a lot of planning (something lacking at WDW IMO). Going to reservations would hurt the ability to do this.
