You can also check Townsend, TN also. Pigeon Forge is about a 20-25 min drive across Wears Valley Road. The Townsend campgrounds are very shady compared to the ones we have been checking out in Pigeon Forge. Although Clabough's is the one we liked in Pigeon Forge and we liked Jellystone in Gatlinburg (but it isn't close to town) out of the ones we have been looking at camping at. This is our first camper and this weekend will be pur first camping trip in it. We are going to Townsend to Lazy Days (their sites are smaller than I would like but everything there is clean and people are nice).

I will try that. Should I also include some chemical treatment too? And DaveInTN are you not camping this weekend in Townsend?

I am not sure if there is water in the tanks or not. There isn't any water in the bowl. And we bought it from a dealer but as an "as is" purchase. When you say seal do you mean that in the bowl I should not see any opening around the exit (for lack of a better word)?

We picked up our very first camper yesterday and there is a smell coming from the toilet. It is a used camper and I cleaned the toilet itself. That made it a bit better but the smell is trying to come back slowly. We are not camping in it for a few weeks so what can I do while it is sitting in the yard? Everything I have read online says to flush the tanks and add chemicals or ice or dishwashing liquid but I am not at a dump station or sewer hookup for a few weeks. Please help.

I will post some pics from there too. We are going this weekend. Hopefully the storms will go around. We will be in a tent this time.
